Into my fourth week of no beer and no booze. I'm kind of enjoying it. Think it may continue for a much longer time.YEMTrey said:Nothing. Just finished my second week of taking a month off the hooch.

@YEMTrey - Congrats. I applaud your tenacity. I've got too many years with SWMBO to ever consider such a move. More power to ya.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Thanks @lousubcap . That last beer earlier this month was the day of my 42nd birthday. I realized that I had been drinking for half of my life on a regular basis. And to be honest with you, not enjoying it that much anymore. It just became the norm. Fire up the grill, grab a beer. Watching the game, grab a beer. My older body wasn't reacting to it the way I used to as well. Add on top of everything else that craft beer is not cheap and getting more expensive. I told myself that whatever I was spending on beer I could spend on golf. Figured it's my favorite kind of investment. Absolutely zero to lose and everything to gain. Now every day when I would grab a beer to relax, I grab a book and read. I know, not too popular around here and with others, but I'm happier with myself and look forward to more golf.

Nice. I had one in college, 2 ponies in the main fridge and 4 liquor taps from the freezer. We just locked it, took off the taps and left it on the front porch. Thing had to have been from the 70s but it was a beast. Even held up in the southern humidity.The_Stache said:Left tap on the refrigerator door...
But I got allergic to beer (barley, no joke) in my 20s and just went with bourbon."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."
