greetings friends
the 36" blackstone is at Amazon right now $232 shipped and at its best price there ever according to camel camel camel.

Mine is on deck. I have only had a few months but no issues. @fishlessman has one uncovered at camp I believe. He may chime in.Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

Ugh. That is a great deal. I have got to stop coming to this site...
-
mines fully exposed since april, under the roof edge so its like a waterfall hitting it in the rain. it gets a powdery rust that wipes off with an oily towell, but i do use it every weekend. i did just buy a cover for it but its still in the box. it would pit with rust if i wasnt cooking on it every weekend and exposed. im not too worried, the first flat top warped and they sent me another which is kept indoors for breakfast griddle foods, the warped one im using just for searing and thats the one i use every weekend
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
I would plan to keep it covered. The cover they sell for it unfortunately leaks. Some people have come up with some clever "tents" using aluminum flat bars. @Spring Chicken has some good pics. This keeps the water from pooling. My cover leaked even when tented so my solution was a cheap blue tarp under the cover.MaskedMarvel said:Can it withstand the elements? That being said I have been too full and sleepy (ok drunk) to put the cover back on and it has been rained on. Once it is seasoned it is less of an issue. I just try to remember to dry it off the within a couple of days and then recover it.
Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -

Thanks for the heads up on this sale. I have one and enjoy the hell out of it.
When I got mine I gave my Camp Chef flat top to my wife's son. He says he uses it a lot. I have been there for dinner and watched him work. The work part is dealing with the hot/cooler spots and moving the food around.
BUT, he has a birthday coming up so I ordered one for him with the cover. The Blackstone cooking area is much bigger, it has 4 burners instead of two round ones and is taller (he is 6'4"). I will let him give the Camp Chef away to his neighbor.
I too had the leaking cover issue. My fix was to take a piece of 1/4 plywood that I had hanging around and cut it a little larger than the BS. I put some aluminum trim on it to lock it in place. To date I have not had any issues at all with rain getting through to the griddle area. Took me about 30 minutes to mark, cut it to size and attach the trim. Cover fits over it very well and keeps everything as dry as a popcorn fart.
Thanks again for sharing the info on the sale. I try not to log into Amazon too often, can't help myself and always spend too much. Prime membership is a killer on the wallet.
Titusville, Fl. and just bought XL and Med BGE. "Every Day is A Bonus" in my world, and my job is to choke the life out of them. Cancer Sucks. -

this spatula is heavey enough to smash the burgers, sharpen the edge a little more to scrape them off or get a cheese melting dome, the burgers lift off thesurface with a splash of water and the cheese dome. ive seen the spatula cheaper, i believe its actually made by dexterMaskedMarvel said:

Wow that's a good price. I believe I paid 237, but I had to use a coupon and stand on my head to get that price.
As far as a cover @MaskedMarvel , I have a hard cover for mine, which doubles as additional work counter. It has worked well now for a year. I don't mean to pat myself on the back about this simple cover, but it works amazingly well and was very cheap.

The inside of the blackstone box is a great place to write hints for the wife.
