I'd toss it if you had any hesitations.    It's a mental thing for me.   Even if it's 99.99% ok, if in my head I'm worried about getting sick I'm not going to enjoy it anyway.

You have a uterous? (Not that there is a problem with that.  I'm a fan of them)

Btw, your money, your health.  None of us are in your shoes.  Make a descision and move on :)

I'm inclined to agree. It makes the old adage come to mind:
"There is a very fine line between safety and stupidity".

Or, when in doubt, use all available sources of data to make an informed decision. Such as, temperature beef was kept at, what possibly could contribute salmonella to beef, etc. For instance, was there raw chicken dripping on the puncture area of the bag?

I'm well aware that were. I was simply pointing out that some folks always err on the side of safety because it has been beat into their heads. Even when it is not warranted. I would have cooked it in a split second.

You meant just what you said:

Safer = toss for any reason
Logical = review conditions and determine actual risk

I LITERALLY took a frozen turkey out of the trash at my father in law's.

My B.I.L. was hoing thru the fridge before they sold the house and he tossed it into the trash can because it was a year old.

Except tossing the modifier "better" on there might make sime think i thought "safer" was actually better.

    :)

I was joking about uretor being similiar in spelling to uterous.  The parenthetical statement was a roundabout way of saying, being a woman is not an issue with me.  I like women.  I actually like them more than guys.

The second paragraph was related to the OP (original poster) and not you.  If you wish, I can explain that too.

The 2nd paragraph was intended to convey my general thoughts that the folks on interwebs can provide opinions all day.

In the end, the person holding their meat must make a descision that satisfies them.  I support any descision that is ultimately made.

@yljkt also, please do not take my ribbing in a negative light.  I was just trying (poorly) to bring levity to a devastating situation.  Poor SRF brisket will never be consumed.  Which was its sole purpose. :bawling:
