Home grown Pork Chops w/pics

I raised a couple of Duroc mix pigs from baby to plate. I kept one and @henapple got the other after slaughter. I've cooked some of the bacon and sausage and both were awesome. Tonight I egged some of the chops. Let me tell you these things were awesome. I could not believe how sweet the fat tasted. This pork is definitely in a league of its own. I have a 21 cubic foot freezer full of pork awesomeness. Now on to the pics...

@BBQpilot these are the first I've raised. A lot of work but definitely worth it.

Thanks @blind99 you're the reason I cooked the potatoes on the egg. Probably would have been better with some roasted carrots.  ;)

@Eggingaround give the potatoes a shot if you have room next time.
@VC_Outlaw I cook pork to 150-160. I know most people say to go to 135-140 but I don't like pink pork. Theses were still plenty moist and juicy. The pigs were around 6-7 months old at slaughter.
@jabam & @bgebrent thanks guys this was definitely better than any store bought pork I've ever had.
@blind99 the potatoes turned out great but I couldn't tell any difference than when I normally do them on the stove. I've never had any luck growing carrots. Quit trying years ago.

I've been on the fence lately with raising a couple of pigs on my buddy's farm.  You may have just sealed the deal.  Thanks!!

@Stormbringer I can't say for sure but I think it was some flavor of Oakridge. It was some that I dumped in a shaker and can't remember exactly what it was.

@GATraveller go for it. It was worth it for me.

@Thatgrimguy Thanks, I believe it was.

@Killit_and_Grillit I cooked a package of the sausage the other day and after everyone was done eating there was one piece left. Ordinarily I would have threw it away or fed it to one of the dogs. I couldn't do it this time. I ended up eating it a little later.

@stichrunner I fed them mostly crushed corn and milled corn. They were raised on pasture so they were able to graze and also were fed table scraps.
