OT - WTSO Marathon Tomorrow - OT

If you are like me (but then why would you want to be fat, drunk and stupid?), a pretty cool wine sales event will begin tomorrow.
Wine Till Sold Out.com, is having an all day marathon for wine at $19.99/bottle, with free shipping.
Granted, not all the wines sold tomorrow will be world class, I have had some killer wines through this sale, and I have had some, um, not so much. I have spent more on less quality.
Last year, I bought several and did pretty well, comparing to what is available. Probably saved about $100-$200 bucks at the end of the session. The qualifier to this statement is I bought a lot of wine.
Don't expect to get a Rothschild at $19.99, but, there are some good deals to be had.
This sight has been dealing with exceptional Italian wines this year, and the occasional SR Blends from France. They also had Caymus at a very reasonable rate a couple weeks ago.
If you do this, check out the label of what is offered, on line, by one of the many wine rating sites, then make your decision. Be wary of the suggested ratings listed.
Have fun, good luck!

Interesting. I was watching WTSO for a while about 6 months or a year ago but 99% of wines were unknown's to me and you had to constantly watch app/website for the current offering every 15 minutes. I wish they posted what was coming up (e.g. tomorrow at 10 am will be Caymus) and would be interesting to compare prices of "known" wines.. e.g. what was the price of the Caymus? What year and varietal was it? --Special Select or Napa Cab?. I think WTSO is good if you are adventurous and want to try different wines.

Thanks for the heads up - I was unaware of this special.
Personally @Raymont - I'd be happy to buy any Caymus cab at $19.99/ea. regardless of vintage
I'll be keeping a close eye tomorrow - apparently no upsell opportunity to temp controlled shipping though. Will be unfortunate to have to wait for a wine delivery in ~October, but thankfully a few cases just arrived from Italy.DFW - 1 LGBE & Happy to Adopt More... -

@NorthPilot06 I think @raymont has a good handle on this organization.
The Caymus I saw was priced at other wine merchandisers from $67.00 to $105.00 same V/same Y. this was delivered to your door at $62.00, the others, charged for shipping, so you could add that to the cost of procurement. It was sold out within the hour. This offering was the exception to the rule, it seems, Big Name, well recognized high rating. Most of those I have researched hover in th 88+ to lower 90s area. There are some wines which have been my faves that received upper 80s which I have found superior to some in the low 90s. Your taste is your taste.
The opportunity for good/great wine is there, although most are obscure labels. If you do a little research going in, regions, rated vintages, etc., your opportunity for success is very good. Examples only; Tuscan chianti (Sangio) 2012, 2011 great vintages, 2013 Napa Rutherford Cabs, etc.
The old saying of "the best wine, never leaves the county" is very often true, globally, as it is locally, and are often from obscure labels. These wines are well represented at WTSO. Not every one is a home run, but enough come along, that are very good, to keep you interested, if you do your research."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Oh, yeah, you gotta have an egg, make killer wings (perhaps even be accused of cheating, by those not bitter at wings cooking contest), and make great bloody marys, amongst other acts of debauchery.

As long as the limbo pole is high enough for me to scoot under.....I can meet all the other requirements. In fact, I may significantly exceed some of them. As for the wings....well lets just say, that is only the first of many (such contest)....although, if they go tree rats or raccoons....I'm out.theyolksonyou said:

Very cool event. Any idea if they do these at different price points? My everyday drinker range is much closer to $10-15.
-
@gtcharlie They do different prices on regular sales events, to which I have seen as low as $10.00 and as high as $70.00.
