Sweet and Spicy Barb B Q Wings

Options

Bar B Q Sauce Ingredients

1/2 cup chopped sweet onion
garlic cloves, minced
jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
(32-oz.) bottle ketchup (such as Heinz)
1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 cup honey
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon celery seeds
1/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper

(Will make enough sauce for a full mason jar.)
 

Cooking Instructions

1) Cook onion, garlic, jalapeño pepper and olive oil for 5-7 minutes in pan.  
2) Once cooked through, add all garlic, onion, and pepper to emulsifier and blend until consistency is smooth.
3) Add blended ingredients to pot and added the remaining ingredients and simmered for 25 minutes.

Wing Cooking Instructions

1) Cover wings in olive oil, salt and pepper.



2) Cooked on raised indirect grate at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (Flip after 15 minutes)



3) Remove place setter and raise temperature to 550 degrees.
4) While grill is heating up to temperature, coat wings in  sauce.
5) Once grill reaches 550 add bar b q coated wings for 90 seconds a side.

    Nice. You only cooked them for 30 min at 350? Mine take around 1.5hr at 300 usually.

    @thatguy662 30 minutes is all they took.  Checked with a thermometer an internal was 170-175.  They were not frozen when I began the cook, maybe could be the difference??

    Didn't make it to the plate. Just left them on the cutting board.

    Hey Buddy, give the bar b q sauce a go, and see what you think.  I thought it was spot on and have made it 3 or four times this year.  It yields about a mason jar worth of sauce that can be saved and used at a later date for anything.  I left out I threw in some apple wood chunks during the initial cook, that helped as well.  Good luck this weekend!
