Gasket

It appears my gasket is starting to crumble.  What is the best and easiest gasket to install?

Get in touch with @RRP on this forum and he will sell you a Rutland gasket and instructions on how to install. The instructions are very good and the project is easy. You just supply the stripping wheel and the adhesive, whole project about 20 bucks and about 2 hours start to finish.

No question that Ron has the answer with the Rutland, he has helped hundreds of Eggers. Gaskets have come a long way since the felt "rim protectors" installed on the eggs years ago that pushed guys like Ron to come up with an alternative. There are lots of Nomex/Kevlar self stick kits available if you want a super easy install without using Permatex or some other gasket material, not that it's hard to do if you are even slightly handy.
I like having a gasket on both the dome and base, only because I think the thermo cables benefit from a gasket on both sides. My Nomex is now four years old and will probably replace it next year.

@RRP is the trusted source for Rutland gaskets! They come with very detailed installation instructions. I purchased two gaskets from Ron and installed them with little to no difficulty.
