I have one and love it!  Some people have reported issues with Bluetooth connectivity but I haven't had any at all

I have one as well, and it's wonderful. Much better range than my older Maverick.

  • the probes are curved metal though right? I need straight probes for the dishwasher. Might wait for the Meater if they ever get it shipped.

My question would be the wire to the probes on other brands I've owned.....seemed to have a short shelf life.....burned out rather quickly....are these new & improved? I would like to use this type again....

I have one of those that I got for the same price from Sam's not long ago.  I like it.  I do have some issues with the range.  It doesn't work from my home office but I think it is because the chimney on my house is in the line of site from my office.

@The Cen-Tex Smoker you are correct the probes all have a 90 degree bend on them.

I recently bought and paid $100 +tax from Academy.  It has worked well on the couple cooks I've done and matched my instant read version when ready to pull.  It didn't come with a clip to use for measuring dome temp, but I MacGyver'ed something that has worked so far.  The range on the Bluetooth could be better, but I usually stay close to my cooks.  Still learning.

@bg_easy - fwiw I just remove the dome thermo and stick one of the probes through the hole.

I checked online at a Sam's Club near me and found this for $33.01.  Hard to believe.  I need to verify this.  If so, I'm in.  http://www.samsclub.com/sams/idevices-igrill2-grill-thermometer/prod15470099.ip?searchTerm=igrill

@500  I checked the link and saw it offered at $89.98.  The Sam's Club version does come with four probes and not the usual two.  Probes go for about $25 so it is a good deal even at $90.

They will sometimes have a different price in club vs on line.  I assume this might only show up if you have selected a club.  I have a club in GA selected, and itshows out of stock in club and the price is $79.91. They might be on clearance in other clubs.

@500 that is a great deal.  I think you can buy it online for store pickup.  For $33 I would be all over it.

The product line was recently acquired by Weber, this could be an end of brand sale?

We use the kitchen thermometer version, it's one of those "where have you been all my life?" gadgets.

That was the pick up in store price not the ship to price. And it wasn't at every store near me, just the one.

If if this an end of brand sale is something better coming?

The reduced prices are their in store clearance prices.  Items that end in one cent are called final markdown items. These have been marked down since around February. I picked one up back then for $79.01 and have used it once. Really like what it does but I did not know you need to email yourself the cook info BEFORE you shut things down. As stated the Bluetooth does not have long range. But if you have a second device i.e. An iPad hook it to that and set it up close by. Also as stated above this comes with 4 probes so for $10 more than the groupon price you can get two extra probes. I would spend the money again if I needed another. PS I bought a second at the same price just to have spare probes.

FYI - Don't run the probes thru the dishwasher....it tends to kill them.  My friends wife killed 3 of his that way.

I do believe that, at one time, iDevices offered a straight probe that was indicated for a grate temp probe.  Not sure if they still offer it since the iGrill was bought from them by Weber a while back.  Might be worth an email to iDevices.....

I got one for fathers day with the 4 probe pack and really liked it on the first cook. Much better than my Maverick that died.  It was nice to be able to walk around the house and see how everything was tracking on my phone. You can also by a straight ambient probe. The difference between the meat and grill probe is the max temp. Food probe can "tolerate" up to 450deg while the grill probe can go up to 600deg. Both with a max measurement of 400deg.

I have one.  The up is the app and the flexibility of tayloring the cook temps etc.  the down, the blue took side sucks, you have to be within 10-15 feet to get reception.

I was interested in getting one from bed bath and beyond so I could use one of my endless 20% off coupons. They show out of stock on line and in all there stores so I clicked on notify me when in stock. I received an email the other day they said they were having problems getting them from the vendor and didn't know when if ever they would be in stock again. My guess is Weber is not shipping to those who are not Weber dealers anymore as they do with all their products.

The instructions that came with my iGrill2 say:
    • The probes should be cleaned by hand with a dishcloth, standard dishwashing soap and warm water. The probes are not dishwasher safe. Take precaution not to get the probe’s wiring wet.
    • Be sure to avoid water exposure to the probes’ wiring as well as the area where the probes’ wiring meets the probes. The probes are not waterproof and damage may result from water exposure. The probes should never be submersed in water.

The issue with range surprises me. Granted we have the kitchen thermometer, but I would be amazed if the two unit have different Bluetooth tech inside. Our unit has a 40ft range, more with fresh batteries.

My iGrill minis will work just fine in the house within about 50 ft of the base station.  It really doesn't bother me because I can just keep the ipad in the living room to keep a constant track (I love the graphs and data points!)

Maybe the old versions.  Current versions (back at least a year) have temp ranges:
Pro Meat Probe and Pro Ambient Probe Acceptable Temperature Range: -22°F to 620°F.
Meat Probe Acceptable Temperature Range: -22ºF to 572ºF.

The difference between the meat and the grill probe is that the meat probes have a pointed end and the grill probes have a blunt end.

    Maximum temp measurement is 572ºF.

I get good reception in the 30-40ft range going through one cement block wall.  I get good reception for over 100 ft over open ground.  I would check the receiving device for issues if you are only getting 10-15 ft.  I was having some connection issues for a while that went away after a software update to my iPad.
