Car port bbqing?

Sold my house and bought a house with a car port, is it safe to egg in the car port? Not a big deal to build a concrete pad at the side of the house just thought I would ask the experts.

Can't imagine why not unless you have construction/fire materials concerns.  An air-gap is quite an insulator.
Perhaps a pic of your set-up?
    Edit:  no expert here.

I don't know. My Mom's carport has a roof over it that is basically an extension of the roof over the house. Two different rooflines, but if you go to the attic, you'll see that the air space up there is not separated at all. If CO gets into the carport attic, it'll get into the house attic. She never grills anyway (after all, she'll be 100 years old on the 4th!), but when I'm there, I move her kettle off the carport. Better safe than, umm, dead.

Attic or not, you aren't supposed to use a grill anywhere near a door or window. I think it's 15', but not sure. Same CO concerns.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

It will be fine. I egg on the covered portion of my patio with a wainscoting ceiling. The majority of the heat dissipates 2-3 feet up. My infrared temp gun shows about a 5* increase directly above the egg.

I also egg under a covered patio with a brick pad. Lots of air flow, been no issues so far.

I have a car port with a concrete pad that I do all of my cooking on. It's open on two sides.  The roof is open rafters and is isolated from the rest of the roof. I had a high CFM exhaust fan installed in the roof to evacuate the smoke.

The Egg is safely away from the house, and it is really nice to stay out of the rain and snow.

I egg on a wood table, up against the house, on the back covered porch. No problems so far.

I'm on a brick floor cover patio and not problems for me either. Well besides when the roof leaks...

I have metal carport. I like it a lot because when raining or snowing, I cook without getting wet.
