larger wheels to push on grass?

Hi folks,

I don't have a BGE yet but I'm hoping to get one in a few months.

I have a question about carts: I would probably keep an egg inside my garage when not in use, and would wheel it outdoors OR I'd keep it outdoors and cover it with an ATV cover.

My question is this: Many of the carts I see have small wheels that are perfectly adequate for moving across concrete, or a wood deck, but I have neither. Do any of you have situations where you push your egg across a lawn? What do you do for wheels on a cart/table?

My neighbor modafied an aluminum hand truck to wheel his in his yard,I'm gonna try and get a picture. It's a large and he moves it pretty much anywhere easily

Casters, or even fixed wheels, with smallish hard wheels won't work. I think you will need air filled rubber wheels. Keep in mind the total weight of the cart plus egg is likely to be 200 pounds or more (depending on the size egg you get).
Here are a couple of pictures I grabbed from the internet of egg tables that would work. I would consider putting a push handle (like on a grocery cart) on one end. The first pic is certainly overkill...but it sure would work

I have a buddy that put 8" pneumatic casters on his table. Similar to these...Rolls like butta across the lawn

Years ago I bought this set of 24" steel wagon wheels for a cart idea I had, but just never got around to making it. They also came with bolt on axle pieces.

@RRP I wish i had those, i would definitely make something. A regular nest is a PIA over any un-level surface such as grass/gravel/mud. I'm looking for a garden cart of some sort since oversized wheels arent too cheap

This is what I did for my medium. It works well in the grass. Make sure you get a handler for it. It is much more stable with it. I used the 1" B-line unistrut and should have used the standard 1-5/8" stuff. You can get it in 10' sticks at most home centers and I ordered wheels on-line so I could some with a post. Since it raises the center of gravity I made the base bigger to assist stability. Lots of options if you put your mind to it.

Here's the mod for my small egg. Can easily be done for a large. It's very stable and unlikely to tip but a nest handler is good insurance.
