What to do with hot Place Setter?
Comments
-
Reminds me years ago at our Eggfest a guy placed his very hot PS legs down on the asphalt parking lot! Needless to say it melted into the asphalt and he had a devil of a time removing it. Later he told me he thought he had cleaned the legs well enough but when the PS got hot it stunk and stuck to his fire ring! Finally he pitched it and bought a new one.bgeaddikt said:DON'T set it on the groundRe-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
The place setter needs one more addition to be complete. Go grab a plate from the kitchen and place it firmly in the middle of the place setter. That's when it becomes a plate setter and is now ready for use in the egg. Good luck.Seattle, WA

@bgebrent The angst seems to have been building for a while. Seriously "tofuturduckenmuffallata" is just a bit much for those of us that do not sous vide. LOL. I'll just mope back over to my vino and wangs."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Others have great answers for where to put a hot Plate Setter, it's not a place setter. I suggest that you get the cast iron Plate Setter because it's much more durable than the ceramic Plate Setter.

I have these gloves for picking up HOT things and I can pick up a 450 degree Plate Setter and carry it for quite a distance if need be, they are not cheap but worth the $$$$$.

I'm going to avoid ever owning one of those things.
The old name is constantly debated. The new name is just ridiculous. CGS makes a better option. And lastly, they are clearly very hard on deck boxes.

@HoustonEgger how do you like that cart? I actually have that in my Amazon shopping list for when I buy my egg. Is it stable enough on the wheels to move around when you have stuff on it?HoustonEgger said:I put mine on a utility cart (which also holds my small egg): http://www.amazon.com/Seville-Classics-Heavy-Duty-Commercial-Grade-Utility/dp/B00DZZ0R0A/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1464976346&sr=8-7&keywords=metal+kitchen+cartLarge BGE
