Notifications - are you getting notified when someone quotes your comment?

As the title states, I have not been getting notified when someone quotes me. Are you? I used to. I have not changed my notification settings. I do get them if someone "summons" me (@username).

@kl8ton yes i do but i have to click the notifications on the right of the forum. i dont get any popup or other notifications i just see that its not zero on the right

So i just quoted you. Does it show it in your notifications on the right? If you click the notifications does it list that kl8ton quoted or commented on something you said? Just curious. I am more referring to a pop up or email.

I think you only get notifications if someone mentions your user name using the @ symbol. If they just quote you, then there is no notification.

So if I just do this- then fishless won't get a notification. To the best of my recollection it has always worked this way.

If you go to to your profile there is a notification preferences section. The "mention me" means to use the @username.

Note there is an option "Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in". However, that could be a lot of "noise" especially if you comment in any of the "what are you ______ing right now" discussions

I used to get that message you describe above when someone were to quote you. It was different from the notification box. Worked for a few weeks than went MIA. Strange.

My biggest issue lately is when submitting a post it will erase sentences out of nowhere. It just happened to this post. I had to rewrite 2-3 sentences since they were erased when posting. Never had that issue up until a week or two ago
