Saw an XXL in person for the first time today. Holy Chit that thing is big.

Think the guy said close to 500 pounds. With a bit of creativity you could get half a hog on one - whole.

Every time I go to Roswell Hardware I leave being pulled by my better half, away from the XXL.

Got to play with a XXL a few months back at a demo cook out in Senoia, GA. That egg is huge, holds a crap-ton of lump, but it sure does cook amazingly!  And the thermo was even personalized for the guy from the distributor that owned it!

I almost bought the XXL for my first, but the salesperson actually talked me out of it. I am very happy she did. I frequently cook for dinner parties, which the XL more than not handles everything. XL and MM, for me, has been awesome.

It's beautiful and a novelty. I don't know if owning one would increase the amount of big cooks I attempt. The other thing is that kind of money will get me an offset and my next goal is to diversify. And I want a trailer cooker--not tomorrow--but in the future.

If I was close to retirement and had my final house it would be in my out door kitchen.

Seems to me it’s a novelty like the original mini, in the category of we made it because we can & not so much because it fills some need; given its price, immobility & weight (and added physically daunting hassles of one day exercising the warranty to replace the base for a crack), if you really need that much real estate you’d be better served spending half the money or less for a trailer mounted offset or the like with even more real estate to play with.

The mini is a novelty?  non-sense.

    yes, a novelty.

I replaced it with a $29 smoky joe years ago & haven't used it since, actually sold it last summer.  At 1/10th the price & nearly twice the grid space, it rendered the mini, well...

by the way seems bge sorta figured that out too, thus the introduction of the mini max with a grid basically the same as the joe

I noticed a local dealer is going to be using the XXL as a demo egg during a fest they are hosting. $2600 takes it home

Now THAT is interesting.   BGE XXL at that price causes me to take a look.  The trick for me would be to find one at an eggfest at that price, figure out delivery and then make sure warranty is there.

I wouldnt use it often but love the idea of the capacity it would have for large party cooks....

And they are still making great money at that price...
