  • Now let's see the picture of the burnt arm hair. That's how I learned (the hard way) to burp the egg. What temp was the dome when you opened it?

I figure there's no reason to post cooks that are run of the mill. This is run of the mill.

My hit parade was about eight ten years ago. Posted a lot of stuff. A lot of new  or original stuff actually

now i prefer to just answer if i can help

I hope that pics and cooks aren't required before you (meaning me) can give answers to routine questions. :)

my credentials should be pretty solid to any ten year forum members. But i can understand people thinking i dunno how to do anything based on the (current) evidence

    Defensive, not bragging.

When you tell someone it is nice to see a food post, they either mean it, or are being sarcastic

i actually think he was sincere, but given the history between us, i reflexively got the hackles up

If i were bragging i'd have posted a resume

quick: what's the link to my food blog?
how many eggfests do i brag about attending? How many photos of my high ticket toys have i posted? Do i put a watermark on a picture of my steak?

All i tryta do is answer as many questions as i have experience to answer. I also roll into those answers the fifty thousand other times the many other peeps on this (and the original) forum answered those questions. I do NOT answer any questions re sh!t i'm not familiar with (search my history for brisket answers.  Nearly none)

if that's bragging, then you haven't been here very long

I have read many @Darby_Crenshaw posts and threads and have learned a lot in a short period of time. Always thoughtful to the question actually posed,  insightful and informative. @Darby_Crenshaw is a mentor to so many new eggers - taking the time as so many of you do, to share experiences and advice is so helpful and very much appreciated!

@RRP: I dont think you understood his point, my response, or my tagline. Or that he's not really a fan of DarbyDipstick. But, what ever.

guess not - at least I know it wasn't aimed at me. Happy Egging Jeff - even with some of those "greens"! LOL

Good lord, I was trying to pay you a compliment.
  • Anyone who is unsure if @Darby_Crenshaw can cook should google @stike and read for a bit. Me thinks it's the same person. @Darby_Crenshaw any chance of posting some pictures from the thread "
Final Report: 100 Day Dry-Aged Rib Eye (LOOONG)"? Awesome post but as you may know the pictures are absent. Would love to see the pics if you still have them and care to share.

Good lord, I was trying to pay you a compliment.

yep. Which is what i said i thought you did.

But i further admitted that given our 'history' i also wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic

i acknowledged the compliment and admitted my weakness in thinking you might have been (*might* have been) giving me sh!t, since the last few comments you've dropped on my sorry *ss have been, well, about giving me some amount of grief.

I didnt say you gave me sh!t, bro. Just said i was not sure, based on all prior interaction recently

like, well, RRP. Dude has repeatedly (privately/publicly) remarked he has no desire to engage.  Aaaaand then he engages.

What's my take supposed to be? He's letting me back out of the RRP doghouse and i am allowed to communicate with him again? Or he's jabbing?

hard to tell with the written word

Care to share any details about the setup you used to cook these pizzas?  I'm curious about cook temp, cook times, and BGE configuration (i.e. raised grid, indirect setup, etc).

nothing wrong with posting a "run of the mill" cook.  one person's routine boring stuff is new to someone else and they'll learn a few things.
