Great score on the mini and that is one handsome looking pup.  We just got our 3rd dog not long ago.   I did one of the DNA tests because I was curious. The shelter said he was mostly great Pyrenees but he doesn't look anything like that breed to me.  I got the Widsom Panel test off Amazon for $60 and the test confirmed he is mostly great Pyr. and boxer with a lot of other stuff mixed in including some lab.  It was pretty cool to see the results and they also predicted his weight (70-110 lbs).

@SmokeyPitt Thanks for the tip on the test. What a good looking dog! You are a busy guy with 3 dogs and family!

no human food =) if you slip make sure its the last bite, no begging at the table.  my dog gets a hardboiled egg once a day, shells and all, and the last bite of any sandwich on the boat B)

Great post about a great day!

I've got to say, I am mostly anti-pup, as I have too many relatives that don't train their dogs, but that one's a keeper.

As for training him to eat off the egg, make sure to teach him to burp it first to avoid flashback.  You don't want him burning his whiskers off.

Great find, that little retriever is a great first dog, friendly and loyal. Should respond quickly to training.

Here's our little rescue Sedona, a 1 year old lab mix who wandered into our yard last summer:

We tried to find her owner, but no one claimed her. Two weeks went by, we had her vaccinated, spayed, chipped, and gave her a name. She's my 4th dog.

@WeberWho - thanks!  I was categorically opposed to the last 2 dogs.  The wife and kids agreed to take complete responsibility and I wouldn't have any work.  Hold on a minute I have to go walk the dog and clean out his cage...brb.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Great deal! Great looking dog! You realize you just trained your new pup to eat directly off the egg. Watch out next time he might eat your dinner!

Can you tell us what you stuffed the pork loin with?

    Thanks! @ibanda
Just a matter of time before I have my own devastated thread....

Here is the recipe I followed:

@Dobie Haha thanks!  I completely understand how dogs can be better than people at times

Nice job on all three fronts. This is my first dog as well. Most of the time his name is Winston, but the wife will call him DumDum and Sir Barks Alot. During Basketball season I call him HAVOC on game days.

@fishlessman Can I ask why eggs? I'd imagine it has some type of health benefits for them if it's a daily routine

@500 Thanks! Nice looking dog. I've been nice so far with names. I've called him a punk a few times. I'm sure it's going to change as he starts test his limits

could be wives tail but always heard eggs were good for the coat, my vet says the shells are also good for calcium and protein.  my dog is a highly active french britt so i have no problem feeding him a little extra, its nothing for him to chase the wheeler 15 to 20 miles done the road full boogie while he dodges trees through the woods =) you have to watch what you feed labs though, they have a tendency to fatten up after the first 2 years

@fishlessman Thanks for the explanation. Definitely will be watching his weight. Our friends have a 7 year old lab and it's a big dog. They guess his weight will be around 60-65 lbs. Hopefully not too much bigger than that

@setdahook Thanks! He's been great dog so far. He jumped up in my truck this morning when I was grabbing something out of it. He thought he was going for a ride. Fun stuff!

Great post!!  My last 3 dogs have been rescues and doubt I'll ever get anything different.
