So, I got my EGG three weeks ago and have used it about 18 of those nights. Last night, for the first time ever, my wife told me to chill with the grill. Nearly gave her her walking papers. Haha

Happy wife, happy life. Hey brother, maybe you better 'lay low' for a couple days.

I hear a similar refrain from my wife, even though I use it only a couple of times a week. Mine says I'm Egg-obsessed!!

So you have made only cooked 18 times in 3 weeks, which means a possible 63 meals. (3 per day x 21 days) That is only 28.6% my friend. So now, the inverse of not cooking is 71.4%. I can only speak of the numbers here, but, it seems you have solid evidence, that you have actually not used it as much as she has perceived and actually you need to utilize it more.
Further, if adult beverages were involved, on a per cook basis, again, you have evidence to support a claim that you do not drink that much.
Dude, you are now set up for an epic run of the BGE lifestyle. Make us proud.

YukonRon after this comment I had to look you up in that helpful introduction from awhile back. Seems you are the lush that drinks bourbon slushies 20 hours a day. This comment and the thought behind it are hall of fame worthy. They are working for you. Might have to get your recipe.

@Captain Paul I am amongst the most fortunate of mankind on this forum.
My Beautiful Wife, loves me and loves my cooking. I am actually more of a wine guy. The bourbon slushies are from My Beautiful Wife, which she obtained from a friend of hers at church. That stuff will kick your backside, and although delicious, I try to keep the intake low. (Emphasis on the word "try")
I am just passing on thought which has been taught to me by the true pioneers of this forum. I am a mere mortal compared to them.
Any recipe I have, you are welcome to. Just let me know.
    Peace.

It's amazing how the wife becomes more on board the more great food you feed her.  I'm going on a little over a year with my egg and it gets used 4 to 5 times a week.  I got very similar comments at first such as "everything doesn't need to be grilled" but now she knows what can be turned out.  I just added a second egg and she didn't even complain. I'd call that a win.

Ha @YukonRon, I like where your head is at. Perfect justification with the math to back it up.

Although I am new to the EGG, I have had about evey type of grill/smoker before. This large EGG is hands down the easiest thing I have cooked on. Only reason reason the ol' lady made the comment was because I "messed" with her favorite meal that I cook. Italian meatballs and homemade marinara. Instead of baking the meatballs, I smoked them. While the meatballs turned out really good, they lost that traditional Italian flavor. Live and learn.

@damnedhooligan, my lovely wife is a Texan through and through. She considers a good smoke cologne an afrodisiac. Ha! I suppose too much loses its power.

Welcome aboard and continue to enjoy the journey.  And no worries about SWMBO, she will get with the program soon enough.  With the data @YukonRon provided you are home-free ;)
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Explain to her the smoked Italian meat balls was a recipe you found from "Southern Italy" then all should be good.
    Onward, my brother.
