Wife wants an Egg....

....just for baking...not going to argue...stopped in a dealer today. Going to get a medium. She wants an indirect set up. My only experience with indirect setups is plate setters...a cast iron one for the Large and the ceramic one we got with the XL back in 06 or so. Been looking at the Ceramic Grill Stores stuff....any input would be greatly appreciated..

@RRP has a medium that is strictly for baking. Hopefully he will be along with some pearls of wisdom. Another convert...Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. I would get the CGS Woo2 and ceramic stone or a couple of fire bricks for indirect. The fire bricks will add a lot of thermal mass to keep temperatures very even. Maybe bricks (they're cheap) and stone for even more mass. The Woo will make it easier to remove baked goods as she will not have to reach down into the grill to retrieve the finished product.A poor widows son.

Also get a BGE pizza stone - they are excellent for baking (pretzels, bagels, breads, etc.).

I'd go with the ceramic PS. The CI's are heavy. SWMBO might not like it?New Albany, Ohio

LOL - my string of pearls is pretty short! Yes, my medium is strictly for baking - no meat, not even pizzas. Also no wood. It is now 15 years old, merely tan throughout inside and even still sporting the original old style gray felt gasket. I seldom bake over 350º. I just use a PS and it too is light in color.lousubcap said:@RRP has a medium that is strictly for baking. Hopefully he will be along with some pearls of wisdom. If you are only using it for baking then I would just go with a plate setter. I think the only option is a Woo and stone but if you aren't planning on cooking raised direct then it won't really be of much benefit and it more expensive.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
