I haven't but I swear I saw it at west lake today. I'll double check when I'm in there again. A new charcoal bag that was black and red caught my eye. I didn't look though so I could be wrong.

Looks good but expensive at $30 for a 20# bag.

Looking forward to a review on this. Looks intriguing.

They didn't steal anything. They are just using the same basic template that a gazillion other sites are using these days.BizGreenEgg said:

I love that they say:
Quebracho Blanco literally translates to “axe breaker”
When "Quebracho" is clearly a S. American Tree rich in Tannins and Blanco is White. Oh well.
Also, South and Central America are home to the worst deforestation practices on earth right now. No thanks. It's why I won't use Wicked Good.

It's the "Compatibility" graphic at the bottom (5 grills), not the overall template.HeavyG said:

I designed that 3 years ago and had our graphics artist make it look good. It's appeared on our website & promotional materials immediately thereafter, and every bag shipped since Jan 2014.
I still have the concept I made in MS Paint......
The very talented folks at my brand marketing company made it not suck:

They did seem to lift that and not even bother to modify the graphic itself other than the size/color.
I'm sure a friendly little email pointing out the error of one of the graphics designers involved will get that corrected.
I'll bet they even send you a few bags of charcoal as an apology.

This guy is the listed CEO on the OUR STORY page. He seems to be a venture capitalist dude from LA. Interesting thing to go after.
EDIT:
Under further review and googling, this site seems to have launched just a few days ago and dude is all over reddit trying to get hipsters roped in. It's an interesting tactic. He makes a few posts acting like he stumbled upon the site blindly and talks about how it looks like its better than kingsford. Then in another post later asks people to look at his new site and tell him flaws so he can improve. It seems as though, based on his reddit user name, he has multiple business projects going on at once. There's some coupon he's offering for makeup school or something at the same time he's offering coupons on the charcoal.
There was also at some point an offering to win 100lbs of charcoal.

So after I read this I went looking to see if the Wicked Good (Or it's source suppliers) follow the responsible management of the world’s forests as per The Forest Stewardship Council. Now not that I had really thought much about it before but I agree it would be better if they did.@The Cen-Tex Smoker said:

I found a post from Treehugger.com that states:
"Wicked Good Charcoal is super dense carbonized lump wood made from five different kinds of Brazilian timber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. It is 100% natural, burns longer and cleaner and comes in over-sized bags making your purchase more efficient and economical."
Now that was in 2005. I did find others.
Naked Whiz states on there web page:
"This charcoal is made from wood in Brazil that comes from forests certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council. (For more information on the FSC, visit the FSC website.
There was another post "Tips for Eco-Friendly Grilling This Summer" from bopoulsen.com on 6-4/2015 about their briquettes. In it they state "
Charcoal enthusiasts should consider buying briquettes rather than lump charcoal, since briquettes contain sawdust (a good use of waste wood). You can buy additive-free briquettes like the ones from Wicked Good Charcoal, which are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and come from sustainable timber operations. These are a great alternative to popular brands which tend to use additives such as coal dust, starch, sodium nitrate, limestone, and borax. You may also consider saving the charcoal grilling for steaks and chops, where you’ll really taste the difference. You can cook your burgers, vegetables, and fish on your gas grill without much of a difference in taste.
So I am OK with Wicked Good.
My second favorite it Lazzari Mesquite Lump Charcoal. It is a product imported from Mexico by Lazzari Fuel Company that was founded in San Francisco in 1908. This is some great stuff. And at $14.00 for a restaurant grade lump 40 lb bag, It works for me.
And from their web page:Ecologically Responsible
In order to produce mesquite charcoal in a responsible manner, consistent with conservation of the earth's natural resources and ecosystems, Lazzari Fuel Company utilizes an ecologically responsible method to harvest mesquite wood by pruning and selectively thinning mesquite trees
Lazzari's five mesquite harvesting techniques are: pruning heavy mature branches that are lowest to the ground, pruning branches that are infested with mistletoe, cutting the weakest of a cluster of trees, cutting a percentage of dead standing wood and taking a percentage of dead fallen wood. Each Lazzari harvesting program is developed by a biologist, who first performs a field study of a given habitat and then prepares a report which dictates what green and/or dead wood will be harvested from each micro - area. As a result of these common sense practices, Lazzari's mesquite harvests are non-detrimental to the mesquite tree, the ecosystem and habitats that surround it.

Last weekend they were offering a code (REDDIT20) for a 20% discount. I almost bought a few bags but decided even at that it was too expensive as I am quite content with my plebeian Royal Oak.kwdickert said:https://www.linkedin.com/in/sohrobfarudi

I think the clown posting on reddit must be an internet marketer for hire, his posts are all over the place.

FWIW, found this online, so it must be true.
Quebracho comes from the Spanish words quebrar and hacha, or quiebra hacha, which basically translates into axe breaker. Quebracho blanco is just one of a few trees that receives the quebracho name. There are two other “quebracho” trees that come from a different family named Anacardiaceae.
This post adds no value to this thread.

Was actually looking for a few reviews on this new stuff and ran across this Egg posting and thought I would share. I bought a 35lb bag from Amazon and they shipped me two 20lb bags with a letter stating I was getting 5lbs for free. It ended up being $50 total. A little expensive, but I'm always looking at different coals to see if there is a better one so I don't mind trying one that's a little pricy.
I've only used it twice so far. I'm not finding it any better or worse then any other I've tried, at least so far. I will say I do like the size of the pieces as they are small to medium with no large pieces that have to be broken up ... yet. I'll check the second bag when it's time. It seems to heat up a little slower, but not enough to matter. I also haven't seen any poping or any foreign material like I have in some of the other bags I've tried. The head is good, but I haven't seen if it will bury the needle. I'll test that out later. I'll also test how it holds the lower temps when I do a butt this weekend (or a brisket).
I used the lumps on Monday to make Stealhead salmon and tonight (Tuesday) to make tuna steaks. There did seem to be a better taste with the salmon, (I didn't add any wood for taste) but since it was my first time grilling Tuna steaks, I couldn't say if there was a better taste for that one, but according to my wife, Tuna has moved into her #2 favoriate spot, behind salmon and above trout and Amberjack.
