Oxo Mystery Tool...Epilogue

The tool turned out to be a Pleated Lemon Reamer. I had the strainer out because I was rendering chicken fat with onions (OMG good). So I thought I'd try the reamer and not have to handle the seeds. It did a FANTASTIC job of cleaning out that lemon rind--far better than any of the squeeze-the-handles tools can ever do. It's a keeper.

Rendered chicken fat, onions and lemon juice...and you use this for...?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I was thinking of a big ol' bowl of rendered chicken fat and onions for dinner because I heard it was really good.
But, since I don't have a pleated lemon reamer, I'll have to go with wings. Again.

@RRP: You are kidding, of course. Good old schmalz stands alone. But since I had the strainer out...how can I pass up an experiment?Judy in San Diego

Chicken fat and onions? I can't even begin to imagine what you would do with that. I have thighs on the egg as we speak. Fat is dripping into the coals where it always goes.

Glad your juicer works. Dinner forks do pretty well too.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Nice! (The reamer, not the strip club.) I use a fork. Might need to look for one of those.*******Owner of a large and a beloved mini in Philadelphia

Happy you know what the item is. I would never have guessed it was a reamer, being so relatively flat.- Jamaican living in rural Western Washington

Interesting; it just doesn't look big enough to ream a lemon efficiently.

@Botch: After you ream out the middle of the lemon half, you tilt it along the outer edges to the rind and ream till it's cleaned out. It doesn't need to be any bigger.Judy in San Diego
