where do you set your plate setter when you take it out and it's hot??

Looks like I have a unique answer. My table saw.
The cooking patio is also where my table saw sits. It has a granite top, and has a metal cover to protect from the elements. It's my "dirty / hot" counter.

So put together a little something with advice from a few people here. Put some rubber drawer liners down, grabbed some ceramic 2" x 12" pieces and laid down for an air gap then put 2 pieces of 1sqft granite tiles on it.
Assuming the the granite can hold the heat from the PS sitting on it after a low and slow for a reverse sear. Should I put legs down on it just in case?

So many ways to solve this problem:
Old grates from a replaced gas stove.
Cast iron frying pan.
Clay flower pot feet or water trays.
The steel cooking grid you're not using because you're reverse searing on the cast iron grid.
Four empty aluminum cans

Where do I set mine? Down, really fast. Hopefully on something that doesn't burn or melt. Some days it goes well, some days not so much. I think I need to start paying closer attention to what I'm doing...LBGE (still waitin' for my free T-Shirt), DIgiQ DX2 (In Blue, cause it's the fastest), Heavy Duty Kick Ash Basket, Mc Farland, WI.

If it wasn't for my BGE I'd have no use for my backyard... -
Drink more, worry less. Some people have had some luck this way. Most, not so much. Play the percentages.XC242 said:Where do I set mine? Down, really fast. I had an 18 inch ceramic tile I bought just for this purpose. The first time I set the plate setter on it....BANG! Guess that's why the air gap gets mentioned. Now I have a couple of fire bricks up there and no problems at all.
