Confused is the understatement....

Not that it takes much....been looking at the Ceramic Grill stores site. Would like to buy whatever it takes to just push the cooking grid up above the felt line....for pizzas and perhaps to help with the monster flare problem I having when cooking burgers...but there is to many damn things available for the Large. Any suggestions? If it matters I am using the original cooking grate and when I need to use a CI plate setter. What rigs are you folks using? What do you like about them? WHat don't you like? Been meaning to call them but latley just never have the time...

I have a spider and adjustable rig for my xl and love it. I have two stones one on the spider and one on the top of the rig so i cook high in the dome for pizza and for baking works great.

They have good customer service, I emailed them explaining what I wanted and they recommended the correct setup too.

I have the PSWoo2-CI and the extender.  It is a great combination for raised direct/indirect cooks and Pizza.   I also agree to just call the store, they will sell you what best fits your needs.  Great customer service!

Three pavers from the hardware store for under $5 will raise your grate.

    Agreed.  Very confusing site.
They need to hire a good information developer to re-name the products and re-design and simplify the site.   The product names sound like inside jokes. The names don't help explain the product.

I delayed my purchase by at least 6 months because of that, even with all the info available.   However, the business is family-run and they are really nice people.  I'd much rather buy from a small family run business with nice people than otherwise..

I've been using the "Woo2" for my LargeBGE for the same use cases you described and have really enjoyed it.  Being able to lift everything up and out at once, including plate setter, is handy.

One thing that vexed me the first time I used it:

Remember that the plate setter goes in "sideways" - through the Woo2 openings on the side.  In the rush of the moment, I have tried to put the plate setter in from the top.  No worky.  This will make sense once you get it.

FWIW it sound like what you are describing is the Woo.  The woo simply lifts your standard grid and has supports to put some kind of indirect piece.  If you want to use your plate setter they have a woo designed to hold the PS.  You probably want to give them a call to verify it will work with the CI plate setter.

I bought some firebrick a while back for something.  Left them stacked in the garage.  Cut a blade for my angle grinder to cut them. And then left them outside. . When I tried to use them in the Egg under a pizza stone seemed like all they did was make the stone "sweat". Will be going by the yard that sells them tomorrow, will be stopping to grab a few more.
Few days ago I seen one of my Coonhounds running around the yard with one of the halves...

You don't have to use fire brick. Any brick will do. All are fired at temps far higher than your egg will reach. If you do it as in the pic above, just remember that if a brick tips over, you may be in the market for a new firebox.

I use three carriage bolts attached to a smaller Weber grid. Put the OEM BGE grid on the fire ring and set the bolt/Weber assembly on it. Been doing it for years.

Or, you could just buy a Woo from Tom. :)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Hmmmm....had an old mason guy tell me to use fire bricks. Memory is a bit fuzzy...something to the effect "normal" bricks will wick moisture.  When heated this moisture MAY expand causing the brick to shatter...or something like that. Either way I will be going by the brick yard tomorrow....and last I bought them they were less $$ than "regular" bricks at the box stores. Damn good point about the firebox...one that I have not thought of...Thank You...

Any ideas on what to do with the PS? I bought a LBGE package and a PS for Christmas figuring it had everything I needed. Now that I'm looking at the CGS I'm leaning toward an AR, but I just can't stand the idea of having an expensive PS go to waste three months after purchase. If I go with a PSWoo to use my PS and decide I really needed an AR then I'll have even more "stuff" just sitting on my patio. :)

You could sell it on CL.  You could cut the legs off, with an angle grinder and masonry blade, and have a super pizza stone ... like this one:

Or, you could invest in a PSWoo2 ($50), extension ($40), and D-grid ($40).  If it doesn't work out for you, the D-grid fits the AR extension.

    @Jeepster47

Thanks for that. That reminds me, though. I also bought a BGE brand pizza stone. Would that have a place on an AR or would it end up on CL as well?

@malligator ... Pizza stones seem to be able to fit most any where.  The only thing I wonder about is the oval indirect stone under the round pizza stone ... might leave two hot spots.  I'm lucky enough to have both the plate setter and the AR setup, so haven't faced that situation.

I agree that the CGS website is VERY confusing and the names make zero sense. There would be a lot more sales if those were fixed.

I was having the same problem you were and finally started a thread of my own after studying the CGS site for a long time:
    http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1188768/ar-woo-confusion-help-please#latest

Maybe that thread will help you a little, maybe not. In the end, I went with the AR R&B combo. My plate setter hasn't left the drawer under the egg since.

Thanks for your link. Read a few pists....my head is spinning and I got a headache. I will be calling them sometime soon. I don't need a second cooking level. All I want is something to get the grate up away from the fire...I just bought 20 pounds of 73-27 chop meat and,am having MONSTER flares. And something to make pizzas a bit less frustrating.
Will need a  Roger for both the Large and the XL.
