$31 for that? Folks must think Eggers fell off of the turnip truck.Legume said:F'it @dougcrann you'll never be happy with your DW or with a smokeware cap, that's why this was invented...http://perfectbbqtek.com/ -
I think it comes with a tshirt.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Ive got a piece of gasket around the chimney so mine fits snug. Mine just doesnt seem to move much. I've thought about a smokeware a few times but just never have pulled the trigger. I'm not against using one, just havent botgered to buy one. I would love to have one for my small but its an older model small and I dont even think tge saisy wheel is the same size as the newer ones so even with adapter I'm afraid it wouldnt fit.Ladeback69 said:
When I used my Daisy Wheel for L&S it took 45 minutes or more for my XL to stabilize at the temp I want, with the SW cap it it is there in about 15 to 20 minutes and doesn't fluctuate as much as the daisy wheel during a cook. Also the DW setting would move around even with it having it set like they say to do it isn't supposed to. It may not be for everyone, but I like it and it is easier than setting up canopy when it rains.Biggreenpharmacist said:
I was just teasing you. I use my daisy wheel and green cap. I did buy hi-que grates for my eggs but thats the only airflow upgrades I've done. Hell, my small egg's daisy wherl isnt even dual function. If you want it hotter than 300 you just use lower vent and no top at all.dougcrann said:
Hell no...I have been biting my tongue about what @Ladeback69 said...something about having a cap and then buying the snuff plate...hmmm...what exactly does this snuff plate do that the Ceramic cap doesn't?Biggreenpharmacist said:I think he decided he wants a smokeware cap instead.
I am not saying that the cap doesn't have its place. In an uncovered Egg, in an area that sees torrents of rain...yup. While the Egg that this for is uncovered we don't get that much rain. And in the event of a rain storm I will just use my covered Egg.
Someone mentioned the cap increasing air flow...would love to see the PROOF of that. I may be mistaken but pretty sure the Egg works off of the draft effect...if this is the case I seriously doubt that a passive device on the exhaust is going to do diddly for air flow...at last not from my small understanding of the chimney effect.
All water under the bridge at this point thanks to @kl8ton who has kindly shipped me out a DW and cap...my sincerest thanks...and I am in the process of paying it forward....sending someone some smoked cheese...the guy is insisting he pay for the cheese, my time and shipping...but that simply ain't happening...Little Rock, AR

My SW Cap was a Christmas present. I put it on My list and I got it.
The flat cap was $15 and worth it. XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.
