Daisy Wheel for a Large/XL...

I know a lot of folks like the Smoke water cap. While I have never had one I amean not a fan of them. Anybody have a Daisy Wheel they would,be willing to part with?  And perhaps the Ceramic cap as well?
Hope I have not violated any forum rules...

I am indeed in the PNW...about 35 miles west of Spokane. A bit of rust is fine. I will have my electrolysis setup going here shortly...wife wants me to releasing some CI. PM on the way shortly...

No real reason...just don't see any real reason for it. 

Fine to each his own, but you do know don't you that one SmokeWare replaces the two caps you are wanting to find? Besides the SmokeWare won't rust and doesn't lose its setting when you open your dome like a Daisey does unless you know the perpenditure trick.

I guess I'm a luddite, but I side with @dougcrann on this. I'm more than fine with the stock daisy wheel and I use the "perpendicular trick" to keep the set.

I do indeed know the trick. As to the rust...have only had to clean/paint my DW once since 05 or so...and it's not like tossing it in the Egg to burn it clean, then into the electrolysis tank prior to squinting it with a rattle can is a lot of work. As to a suffer cap...already have a piece of scrap plate and a 1" piece of 6" tube...all I have to do is buzz them together. 
I don't see the point in some of the gadgets folks seem to think they need. Smokeware Cap, KA basket being 2 of them. Not saying I will never own either but...
My XL fire grate is ready to bust. I will be picking up a sheet of steel grate to make a fire grate for my Reverse Flow...and the one I will be starting. Going to just build one. Same thing for the cooking grate. I have 2 XL'S.  One of them is built with all my cracked parts. This one will be used for briskets and ribs. Don't need nothing fancy for a cooking grate, going to make one out of a piece of expanded metal.  Sorry for rambling..

The DW is excellent for me. I cook in a covered area, if the egg was exposed to rain the SmokeWare might be a good option.

I guess I have just gotten comfortable with the DW temp adjustments.

I got VA SmokeWare cap for Christmas and haven't touched my DW or ceramic liud other then to move thevout of the way on my prep table.  You can have mine if you like.  The cap is easier to use then the DW, controls the temp better and I don't have to worry about it raining when doing a night cook. It also seems to create better flow, it is not a gimic.  I did buy the flat cap for $15 to help with putting oiut the fire, but it is really not nesecary.

As for the KAB I am wanting that, because it would make cleaning out my XL a lot easier.  Don't knock something tell you have tried it or seen it work is what I have always been told.

I find the KAB useful and am glad I purchased it. If I didn't have a roof over my BGE I would likely have the Smokeware cap, but the DW and ceramic cap work fine for me. If I ever drop my ceramic cap there's a reasonable chance I would get the Smokeware. I do cover my egg and table, however, even with the overhang, and it's snug enough that I'd likely need a different cover to accommodate the Smokeware.

Could be, I read it as trying to head off the big sell that always seems follow, i.e. Don't bother trying to convince me to get a smokeware cap, I know what they are but I want a daisy wheel.

Damn...will everyone just relax please? Not a big deal on folks "sales pitching" the cap. At some point I very well may buy one. But for me the DW works just fine. I have an XL as well as a Large that are covered....using the DW on them has never been an issue....would like to have a DW and a the Ceramic cap for the one that isn't covered...ain't like I live in an area where it pours all the time. Normally by mid-April the rains are done...and we won't see much til fall. 
As far as knocking something...I didn't know I wasn't entitled to an opion on something. As to better temperature control...hmmm...my FlameBoss, when set at 225*, will float from 222*-228* on the grate, my Auber fares only slightly worse...seriously doubt that the cap will do much better. And as to the basket...well...I don't see the point of dumping chunk in the trash simply because it is small. I sift my new chunk....as well as the smaller stuff I remove from the Eggs when I clean them. I use all fines to help light my Reverse Flow. 
I did contact a member here about his DW but haven't heard back from him since yesterday. If for some reason he doesn't pan out I will be in touch @Ladeback69

I probably shouldn't talk because I do use pit controllers...but I just don't see a need for some of these gadgets. Not knocking them...just don't see the need for them. I use one of our Eggs at least 6 times a week. I also don't clean the ash under the grate until it is 3/4's of the way to the grate. I wear gloves when lifting the cooking grate...Prior to every cook I stir up the chunks to get rid of any ash. Not very complicated...sure don't need a basket to avoid this simple task. Prepping the Egg like this will get me a "bury the thermometer needle" fire...so I surely don't need a basket so I can have a gasket torching fire. As to the cap...not much of a secret to the the DW. if I am going low and slow, using one of my controllers...it needs to be shut...not very complicated. When I am cooking low and slow the dome is only opened towards the end of the cook...not much to remember about keeping the DW closed...
I have several mental health troubles...one of the things that I am good at because of these problems is justification....that is what it,seems like when folks attempt to tell me how the cap and basket are "needed"...that these folks are simply justifying spending their  $$ on them...

Don't think the cap or basket are 'needed'. But some find that that they make using the egg easier/better.   I am fine controlling the fire manually and don't see a 'need' to use a controller.  But I recognize that some may find their use more convenient.

I think you might have avoided all this nonsense if you had just stated that you were looking for a daisy wheel and never mentioned  how you felt about Smokeware caps.

Hell no...I have been biting my tongue about what @Ladeback69 said...something about having a cap and then buying the snuff plate...hmmm...what exactly does this snuff plate do that the Ceramic cap doesn't? 
I am not saying that the cap doesn't have its place. In an uncovered Egg, in an area that sees torrents of rain...yup. While the Egg that this for is uncovered we don't get that much rain. And in the event of a rain storm I will just use my covered Egg.
Someone mentioned the cap increasing air flow...would love to see the PROOF of that. I may be mistaken but pretty sure the Egg works off of the draft effect...if this is the case I seriously doubt that a passive device on the exhaust is going to do diddly for air flow...at last not from my small understanding of the chimney effect. 

All water under the bridge at this point thanks to @kl8ton who has kindly shipped me out a DW and cap...my sincerest thanks...and I am in the process of paying it forward....sending someone some smoked cheese...the guy is insisting he pay for the cheese, my time and shipping...but that simply ain't happening...

@dougcrann ... The Flat Cap replicates the function of the ceramic cap if you have the Smokeware Cap on your egg.  With the Flat Cap, you lift the top of the Smokeware Cap, insert the Flat Cap, and replace the top.  Yes, you could remove the entire Smokeware Cap and use a ceramic cap, but the Flat Cap allows the Smokeware Cap to remain on the egg instead of being knocked around in a storage box.

I was just teasing you. I use my daisy wheel and green cap. I did buy hi-que grates for my eggs but thats the only airflow upgrades I've done. Hell, my small egg's daisy wherl isnt even dual function. If you want it hotter than 300 you just use lower vent and no top at all.

When I used my Daisy Wheel for L&S it took 45 minutes or more for my XL to stabilize at the temp I want, with the SW cap it it is there in about 15 to 20 minutes and doesn't fluctuate as much as the daisy wheel during a cook. Also the DW setting would move around even with it having it set like they say to do it isn't supposed to.  It may not be for everyone, but I like it and it is easier than setting up canopy when it rains.
