Just in case some of you quasi-Irishmen get too blitzed tomorrow to read the forum I wish you well!

My wife is a 2nd generation "Irish immigrant” so tomorrow’s observation has always been special for her. During the 37 years she taught high school English she would get decked out with so much green and pins and you name it to show her pride of her heritage.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

I will have to wear 30 pieces of green flair tomorrow. Or maybe not. I'm only 25% Irish with only a bad drinking habit and surname to show for it.______________________________________________I love lamp..

Hey, what's with the stereotyping? Are you an Irish-a-phobe?nolaegghead said:I will have to wear 30 pieces of green flair tomorrow. Or maybe not. I'm only 25% Irish with only a bad drinking habit and surname to show for it. -
My maiden name is McKeown, and I am third generation Irish, on my fathers side. Both Grandparents were born there, and Dad was one of 14 children..11 survived into adulthood. And guess what: I didn't wear green today. Just forgot, which I usually do unfortunately. But I will not forget where I came from.
Oh, and it will be 22 years this June for me and the Mister. Man how time just flies!
