Ordered two bags of Rockwood...

Yeah, I'm the guy who keeps saying it doesn't matter. I'm paying 70 cents per pound for Wegman's house brand, and Rockwood is $1.10/lb. That Walmart Royal Oak sale is about 56 cents per pound.

The reason im trying this well respected brand? I'm starting to think that my usual 'coal is making everything taste the same. The food is still good; when I share it, it gets raves, and I know they are real. But when chicken, pork, and beef all share a similar smoke character, it gets monotonous. And after five years, I'm starting to get shy toward it.

So I suppose I'll see if it's worth it. Forty pounds should get me into mid to late April, I think, by which time I will know if it's the right switch.

In all serious, Rockwood is outstanding.

It's worth it.  Not generally a kool aid drinker.  Neutral lump, gives you all the control on the smoke.  If it's good enough for Scottie...

Rockwood is the best.  Although I typically prefer "medium" sized lump, I hit the jackpot in the last bag...this was after I split the top ones in half

You are going to purchase a lot more than two bags before it is all said an done. Enjoy it and the food it produces for you.
