Hope you guys don't take this the wrong way, but if Apple was a Canadian company (where I am from), I expect that they would get a lot of customer loyalty here, for all the jobs and side benefits they create.  Especially vs Samsung which never had an original thought in their head.  They are cheap knock off artists who copy for a living.  Why they get so much support in America is beyond me.  All it takes is a little research to find out that they have a horrible track record in business ethics.  There will never be a Samsung product in my house.
Apple is only so American. The iPhone is made in China

Just like every other phone built today, so that point offers no distinction on the relative value that Apple delivers to America vs the likes of Samsung.  Besides, even though those phones are built in China, only $10 of value is associated with this.  But hundreds of dollars are associated with the value added by American workers.  That is because the high value engineering and software jobs is where the value is.  Not with the menial labor that it takes to build these devices.

The Apple iPhone is like the Toyota Tundra. The most American made phone and truck. =)

  • I switched from Apple to the new hybrid 7X droids running on a second tier O/S by hyreuax ... The interface from apps to phone linking are phenomenal especially using the marshmallow update from 2015 ... It's using some eye recognition along with syncro-tech touch but it's glitchy and to new to really give it a proper endorsement ... If your lucky enough to get your hands on one of these grab it quickly !!

There maybe some truth in that. I started out with just a iPhone. Wasn't long I added a iPad. Then Apple TV. Then movies and music. It's almost addictive.

I started with a Mac Pro and then went MacBook Pro, iMac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and on and on.  Too easy and they all work seamless together and the whole family is Apple. Throw in the family sharing and family music plan and we are one virus free happy bunch.  Best thing I ever did was get my parents and brothers to Mac...my support calls went down greatly.

@DuckDogDr - it will sync but you have something configured incorrectly.  I'm no help on the DROID gear.  Just hold one and go with what you like.

I have an iPhone 6 and am generally pretty happy with it although the memory that some of Apple's preloaded apps eat up is really starting to annoy the hell out of me, so I may look seriously at a Note next time I get a new phone.

I've been an iPhone person since the iPhone 4 and the only reason I went with it was because my company gave it to me and paid for the bill.  I had never heard of the Project Fi until last night and now am waiting for my approval.  I too will be getting the Nexus 6P.  Never really loved or hated the iPhone, but I think I will like the "openness" of Android better.

I'll tell you man...I've been looking for the Apple experience on Android since I switched.  Nexus is exactly that and the 6P is the first premium device in the Nexus line.  I still love it after several months of usage.

@DuckDogDr  Basically google is piggy backing off of Sprint and T-mobile to create their own cellular network.  Here is a link to all the info you need.  https://fi.google.com/about/

Droid - I am an IT guy and every time I try to use an apple device-it baffles me at the lack of settings and options it has.  It does not give you much control over important things.  Has anyone tried to navigate a recent version of iTunes?  What the heck have they done to it.  It is far too confusing and does way to much automatically.  Needless to say, I am ANTI-Apple.

Droid family here for phones.  We like the variety of hardware choices and the ability to customize.  LG, HTC, and motorola offer good choices beyond Samsung for the Samsung haters out there.  The only drawback I've seen is it is getting harder to find a new droid phone with a smaller screen (e.g., 4.7") and cutting edge phone and operating system. Most of the really good hardware is on the larger side.

Even though many of their friends had iphones, none of the kids chose Apple phones. It was a split decision for tablets, 2 went android and 1 went i-Pad.  I got a free i-Pad, it's ok but I wouldn't buy another one.

I hear you. I'm IT as well and for all the reasons you listed is why I'm all Apple. :)
