Lately, this forum has been awash with wonderful wokkery.  And it's all looked awesome.
So . . . being currently wok-less, I got t' wondering . . .

How about Egging Sweet & Sour Pork without a wok or CI?
Is there a way?

First, I massacred a perfectly good pork tenderloin
and let the granulated garlic rain.

Marinated it overnight . . .

Bell Peppers, Onion, and Garlic marinated in Sweet and Sour Sauce for a coupla hours
- drained and saved the marinade.

350° indirect

(Dunno how Shrimp got involved,
but a smart husband is an obedient husband.)

Platesetter removed . . .

Voila!

And the answer is, "No.
I cannot Egg legit sweet & sour pork without a wok."

Basically, this is only a pretty good kabob meal
with sweet and sour sauce splashed here and there.

Nonetheless . . .

Ah, well.
Just experimenting.

This write-up really should be enter in the Oscars.  I'm still giggling.

Some of you guys should have a week-end cook off.  None of the special foods or three picture limit stuff like last winter.  Pull out all the stops and let the IT folks loose.  Judging is based on visual presentation only!

    Thanks for taking the time.

Oh, I'm sure they're affordable - just hadn't really considered one until the past week or two.

My plan for this summer was to learn to use salt blocks, but that may switch to learning to wok.
    Or both - we'll see.

its probably my most used pan, sits stove top for scrambled eggs, use it for dry roasting veggies for deli style meatloaf, easiest pan to roast nuts in, really good for making steak and cheese sandwiches, warm bacon cabbage slaw, uses alot less oil for deep frying small quantities. its a pretty handy pan to own, can also be used for stir-fries =)
