Why have a gasket? It really not needed.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd.

I find a gasket is a nice thing to have. When I get a little impatient and open the dome too soon and burn all the hair off my knuckles I tend to let the dome slam down.Mickey said:Why have a gasket? It really not needed.
I think the gasket prevents cracking the egg in this case.
