That's about as fresh as they get my friend.

Brings back memories.  I used to live in the FL panhandle.  Getting fresh shrimp off the boats along the coast was always a treat.

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’  Dare to think for yourself.

Been doing the same at Port Canaveral for 25+ years.  Used to be a boat bag 50#'s rock shrimp was $.50/lb now they are $10-$12 lb in store.

Love that gulf shrimp.  Last time I went to Galveston I was a little disappointed in the prices.  In Dallas we get fresh, never frozen gulf shrimp.  The Galveston shrimp is obviously more fresh but it was at least as expensive as what I pay in Dallas.  Maybe more.  Maybe I was going to the wrong place.  You got a consistently good place?

Darian - it was indeed a nice day for that. Stupid me scheduled work for what was supposed to be a holiday!

I'll have to pick your brain the next time I want to get fresh shrimp. That's good stuff.

Thought of the last place we saw you. Linda discovered we are out of sea bass and that makes another trip to Galveston.....
