One more time. In the style of Dixie.

Fellows, this probably isn't even worthy of posting. But I'm bored and have nothing to do so I thought, why not?
Here is some stuff that I whipped up real quick on a whim today. 
Sauasge loaf. I have already posted this so I won't elaborate. 
Going on at 350 degrees. 

She is a done deal. 

Thought I would deep fry some pickles and jalepenos. 
Making a seasoned flour. 

Air drying the pickles so they will crisp up when frying. 

Also a straight flour for the "triple dip".

A hot wash of 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of whole milk and 4 tablespoons of hot sauce.  

Getting ready.

Done, and in the style of Dixie. 


And just like a hippy in a wind storm, there it is my friends. Fast, simple and pretty darn good to boot. Hope that y'all enjoyed this simple meal done in the style of Dixie my friends.

    I'd belly up to the bar all day long for that feast!  Love fried pickles, and jalapeños and yours look awesome.  The bubbly cheese on the sausage loaf, money brother.  You're eating well my friend!

    Hey, did you see my response to your question on the other thread? I thought that mighty ironic that I got the original recipe from a couple in Illinois.

    I can't tell you how much I hate pickles... If a pickle touches my plate I'd rather not eat the meal.  So... This post is gross!!    Looks like you nailed it, but gross.

  • First had fried pickles in Mississippi.  Thought is sounded gross, but they are amazing. Jalapeños a great idea. I must try this. Great pictures. Thanks

    Nothing gross about fried pickles. Give it a try before you knock it. And that ain't no typical batter Scottie is using. Besides, it's done in the style of Dixie, so you know it HAS to be good. Post on my brother from another mother. I enjoy reading them.
