Ok, here are my results on the 30 oz ramblers.  Both filled with ice, lid on, left.  RTCI- ice lasted 48 hours, YETI- ice lasted 50.5 hours.  While the YETI won the RTCI did great!
Essentially the same performance for half the price.

What are you talking about walk out? Your not making sense Tony probably why you bought an RTIC cooler. You have seen the several posts where people had issues and customer service was questionable right? Why did you buy an egg you should have just got a vision kamado for half the price of you don't care about customer service or quality.

Can you link us any of those several posts that talk about a poor quality product or a defect in a cooler that was not handled?
You keep claiming RTIC is selling inferior products but everyone that has posted on this forum loves the RTIC coolers and cups they have. I agree with you that the delays have been a problem but this does not translate to the products being bad. "Well worth the wait" is what I keep reading.

When you buy a Yeti, the only one that is smiling is the people at Yeti because they just sold you an overpriced cooler and banked.

The rambler with the cracked lid where the poster last I saw had waited several days for a response and the recent drain plug that didn't come with the cooler and the first call wasn't returned and the second they were told that lady was out at lunch. Someone on the forum offered to stop by and talk to the owner for a drain plug.Sorry but lunch time is when a lot of people have time to get things taken care of a company can't have their whole warranty side out to lunch. Also someone recently tested both cups side by side and the yeti lasted several hours longer so you're not getting the same thing.

I believe DMWs initial test was far from impressive on his 20 if I remember correctly. The cracked lid and drain plug were examples of poor customer service which you didn't even try to defend. I will gladly pay 30% more to get a better product from a reputable company with great customer service. Also you can't say out of the thousands of coolers ordered because I have only seen the reviews from the ones on this forum so 2 issues out of a couple hundred probably. Also slovelad I believe it was his wife wasn't impressed with the rambler because it sweats.

Will never buy this product again! I was extremely hesitant to spend $400-500 dollars on a cooler, but I travel a lot and really need something to keep my ice frozen and my food safe for consumption. All the hype about the Yeti convinced me to save some money and purchase a Yeti Tundra 65. I'm surprised that anyone gave this product a good review, because it doesn't hold ice frozen any longer than a normal cooler. I have tried everything but dry ice. And for the price I paid for this Yeti, I shouldn't HAVE to go to the trouble of dry ice. I am on a 7-day trip and I have had to drain the water from the Yeti every single night and then refill it with new ice (or re-freeze water in Ziploc bags or bottles). I even bring the dang thing inside to my hotel every night, so it's not like it's in hot weather all day. And it's in my air-conditioned car the rest of the time. I see absolutely NO reason why a product this expensive can't do its job and just keep a bag of ice frozen for 24 hours at the very least. And to add insult to injury, the thing is so heavy that it is barely moveable (for me) when filled. And does it come with a handy set of wheels? NOPE! For that you have to fork out another $200 - $300 bucks. I am completely disgusted that I fell for this gimmick.

The drain plug leaked out all the water and flooded my car. We drained it and tighten the plug as tight as possible and still leaked. Am I the only one that has had problems with the drain plug? Also, when drinks and ice get in there it is very heavy. Takes two people to carry. Not good enough for the price you have to pay for it.

I will revise this review if my call for warranty is addressed to my satisfaction. 2 calls to customer service and all I have t show for it is an unreturned request for a call back after listening to the non stop advertisement while on hold. I sent an email request for warranty. $300 plus for a cooler seemed ridiculous to me but I did it anyway. It leaks horribly. Maybe they'll fix it. We shall see. have no issue with the distributor.

The warranty is not what it seems. The warranty on the website states there is a 5 year no worry warranty. Well you have to read the fine print. Basically if your yeti breaks its not covered. Why the heck the big deal about the 5 warranty when it doesnt cover anything. If your cooler fell off your truck and broke. That isn't covered. In the small print it says.....This warranty does not include any manufacturer responsibility for any incidental or consequential damages resulting from use of the cooler. the big print says.....We stand behind every cooler we make. If any part of your YETI malfunctions or breaks, simply contact us for prompt repair or replacement. Don't worry, its a YETI!....A little contradictory don't you think? If my companies warranty policy read like that we would have been sued by now.
Why do you advertise a 500 lb guy sitting on it and throwing it around. Because if that 500 lb guy broke it their warranty would not have covered it.

I had the cooler 7 days. My cooler was sitting 10 inches from my generator on my truck and the yeti melted. I didn't think twice about putting it there because my Coleman has rode there for years. I contacted YETI. By phone and email. Not under warranty. I was shocked. Yes I admit it was a bonehead move, but in the past with the Coleman it never mattered. I never thought I would have to baby the YETI. The cooler that is said to be indestructible.

If you want the cooler by all means buy it. But don't buy it thinking it has a great 5 year warranty because it doesn't. It's all smoke and mirrors.

The drain plug fell out first time we used the cooler. Now replacement plugs are back order. So it's summer and my $250 cooler is non-functional. Dudes, fix the plug so it isn't so easily lost :/

I have been looking for a good cooler. I first looked at Yeti. When I went too look at them they were in Liters this is AMERICA.
They can shove their liters. I called yeti and asked them where they are made and she told me at many places overseas but some are made here
She told me there is a sticker on the bottom that I would have to find that says made in U.S.A. So if you want an American made one you would need to go from store to store looking for the sticker.
She told me that she couldn't tell me where to buy an American made one
Grizzly coolers are made in the U.S.A. and are rated better than Yeti!!!
I an still searching and researching!
I need an 150 Qt. cooler
If you know of one that is made in the good old U.S.A. let me know.

Wife bought me a tan yeti 65 qt cooler for birthday. Was really excited. Got last week, just I. Time for opening weekend of deer season. Filled with 3 bags of ice and beer on Friday night. Saturday around noon took cooler out of land rover and placed on camp house porch. Few hrs later there was water all around it. Me an other guys figured someone dropped some ice or spilled something. Later in night put back in back of SUV. Next morning rear of my land rover was soaking wet. The drain plug leaked all the water out of the cooler and flooded the back. Not happy. Just glad it wasn't bloody deer meat. Took cooler back and they were sold out of 65 qt yetis. Guessing since they are made out of use their quality has gone down. The drain was screwed in tight. After all of us examining it was drilled crooked in cooler so the plug was not sealing. For 400+ bucks this should not have happened. Returned it and ordered a pelican off of amazon for 100 bucks less.

Product isn't worth the gleaming price. This is only a status thing really. You must be out of your mind to buy a cooler for these prices. Ive used Coleman and igloo my whole life and use them daily outside in heat, sometimes in direct sun all day and still have ice. But the only way I could see using a cooler like this is being somewhere without power, far from any source to get ice.

@fishlessman you mean Yeti didn't give the guy a new cooler when he put it by his generator and melted it? Damn that's poor customer service. Oh and it's yetis fault for sure that the guy lost his drain plug and the other people didn't tighten theirs. Oh and Yetis not made in the USA so buy a grizzly that's a good example.

In comparison to the RTIC 20, the Yeti roadie has plenty of bad reviews.

The continual quest to substantiate Yeti purchases in a thread about another brand are tiring at best.

We are talking about a cooler guys, let's keep that in perspective.  This is not crucial to life.  Life is too short to sweat about things like coolers.  Purchase what you like, like it or learn from it and move on.

I believe DMWs initial test was far from impressive on his 20 if I remember correctly. The cracked lid and drain plug were examples of poor customer service which you didn't even try to defend. I will gladly pay 30% more to get a better product from a reputable company with great customer service. As with "any" of the high quality molded cooler, if you don't follow the instructions of pre chilling the cooler and the contents before you load it up you will not get optimal days of cooling. This is true for Yeti and all others. Side by side all of the big names will be very close in performance and quality.
Again, your 30% claim only holds true if you live close enough to a REI store to pick up the cooler not to mention most RTIC buyers will pay no sales tax and shipping is included direct to their front door.
@DMW might chime in and let us know if he is happy with his purchase rather than you speculating on his happyness.
I visit at least 6 forums that have had discussions of the RTIC coolers and I have yet to see even one unhappy customer due to a bad cooler . "Almost all" of the negative comments on any of the High end molded coolers are due to customer "ignorance". They simply load warm drinks into a warm cooler and expect it to keep ice cold for 7 days. Not going to happen with "any" cooler.
And I'm willing to say this forum has generated cooler sales in numbers in the thousands. I bet many forum members don't post on these threads because they don't want to be jumped on by you for no good reason. "If" one of my RTIC coolers falls apart in a few years and RTIC does not stand behind the product you will have the last laugh and will be happy to say "Lit, you were right". Forum members that follow these posts are laughing, but not at RTIC. Sales are so good the product is sold out for months.
But after some research I now know why you are pounding RTIC...http://litcoolers.com

Thanks for asking, I am quite happy with my RTIC 20.

My initial ice test that I was not thrilled with involved 30 cans of beer in a 20qt cooler with a bag of ice. I was doing it wrong. Not enough ice to beer ratio.

Thanks for asking, I am quite happy with my RTIC 20.

My initial ice test that I was thrilled with involved 30 cans of beer in a 20qt cooler with a bag of ice. I was doing it wrong. Not enough ice to beer ratio.
Thank you. Hope to have my 20 next week.
    Thank you,
