Welcome new Eggheads!

It seems that a number of new members have joined the ranks, likely because Santa was in a good mood and dropped off BGE's for a bunch of people.

This foum is highly dysfunctional at times, but it only adds to the charm :) Chime in - there is a ton of good info about anything you can imagine (take a look at current threads to get an idea), and occasionally people post threads about their cooks.

So, welcome to the fold. But don't get on the forum with your credit card anywhere close by. These jack@sses are VERY adept at helping you spend your money. Consider yourself warned.

Welcome and WOW!!  Talk about diving right in.

Caliking, this is a great thread.  Welcome to @rblarrcpa and all other new eggers.

Please don't take the quibbling/non-purposeful banter/distractions too seriously.  Join in and be a part of them if you want.  Ignore them if you want.

But most importantly, contribute to the community with posts/pics/comments.

As above, great thread and welcome aboard to all those who are in the "better to be lucky than good any day" camp (rblarrcpa comes to mind :)  ).
Ask away and you will likely get several difference responses to your question-and all will work.  Try one and note how it goes.  Then change it up the next time.  Don't chase temps especially on a low&slow (+/- 15 *F or so is close enough).  Patience is a watchword on the low&slow cooks.
Bottom-line enjoy the cooks and the SWMBO eggscape time with the requisite adult supervisory beverages.

  • Good thread Cali. Fill the egg to above the fire box, light it, let the white smoke clear and don't chase temps
