Carne Asada?

My daughter asked for "steak tacos" as her birthday meal so I'm going with carne asada tacos. Anyone have a good marinade they'd share? My daughter is turning 7 so looking for something without a lot of heat.

I couldn't post a comment with the pic. They have a chipotle that is good too. You can throw some tequila in with it for s&g's as well.

I love stubbs beef marinade. It is my go to for Carne Asada. If you want to branch out a little you can use this Achiote Citrus Marinade. I use stubbs 75% of the time and I make this when I'm feeling froggy or have more time.

I know you are looking at doing Carne Asada, but have you thought to do Tri-Tip tacos. I have started to do them instead of Carne Asada and my family and friends love it. If you have Meat Church Dia De La Fajita that is what I would use. Just another option for you... And it's more fun to cook.

If you're a norteno, then try lime, salt and onions on steak. Just needs to be simply layered and sit for an hour before grilling. Typically a skirt steak, also good with a thin sirlion or ribeye. Great with grilled onions (the ones that marinated), avocado, fresh salsa and corn tortillas.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++Austin, Texas. I'm the guy holding a beer.

Tri-Tip is great too. Very similar to the sirloin flap others are recommending. Carne Asada essentially means grilled (asada) meat (carne) so the cut is not as important as the prep.

Nice Post. I read this yesterday, then saw a bottle of Stubbs Beef Marinade at the store, so I grabbed it. I got a skirt steak thawing out now, but I will be on work travel until Sunday. @The Cen-Tex Smoker Do you see any issue(s) if I put the steak in tmrw morning for a 4 day marinade before grilling sunday?Columbus, OH

I woudn't do that. it really takes quickly so I usually only do an hour or so.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX -
