I have been given the choice to get a gift card to Home Depot, Acdemy Sports, Best Buy and some clothing stores from my job for 10 service award.
i have been torn between
36 Blackstone grill
An offset smoker like Oklahoma Joe
i have wondered the difference between the egg and a stick burner. I have only known the egg, but I have seen many post using the Blackstone grill, it has me interested in as well
Looking for suggestions either way, or maybe even something different I did not think of.

Wrap your head in a towel and go to HD. They'll treat you right..

Well, I don't have a stick burner, but it does one thing better than the egg, but you can do it pretty well on the egg. The griddle opens up a whole new avenue of cooking. Sue, you can put a griddle on a egg, but it's small and greasy over an open flame. That big griddle is safe and you can put out a ton o grub in a hurry.

This. I just looked at an Oklahoma Joe at Lowe's a couple of hours ago (not really in the market - I just remembered reading the original post this morning). The one they sell there is quite thin and more in the class of a COS (cheap offset smoker). If you do go for an offset you want to get one that is 1/4" thick or thicker and weighs as much as possible. I believe that Oklahoma Joe has traditionally met that standard, but the one I saw today sure didn't.
With an offset you might raise your brisket game by 5 or 10% if you are willing to work 10 times as hard as you do on your egg. I'm willing to do this 3 or 4 times a year.
The griddle is a whole new game. I haven't gotten one because I don't see myself cooking on one, but if you see yourself using it, that would probably be the better way to go.XXL BGE, Karebecue, Klose BYC, Chargiller Akorn Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain, Grand Turbo gasser, Weber Smoky Joe, and the wheelbarrow that my grandfather used to cook steaks from his cattle

Blackstone would be in my list as well.
Saw a great cover hack earlier today with some aluminum to hold the cover off the surface so it can be seasoned without seasoning the cover at the same time!LBGE since 2014
