Walmart carries Grace brand. Just as good IMO.
    Thanks - I'll give them a shot!

not egged but yankee fried chicken sandwiches. fried, dipped in franks with butter, bluecheese dressing

I really like the sound of this sandwich brother fishless. However I would be forced (obligated) to change yankee fried to southern fried ;)

Looks like Walmart for me is now ship to store, but local Kroger appears to have it. At least according to their site.

you could substitute southern fried chicken in a yankee fried chicken sandwich easy enough, im just no good with making southern fried chicken =) once dipped in franks redhot with butter and topped with bluecheese and celery its definately a northern experience

Mix 2 parts bbq sauce to 1 part bottled Italian dressing. Marinate the thighs for anywhere from 15 minutes to 4 hours (ie, it really doesn't matter much). Do them direct at about 375-400, turning frequently until just a little crispy around the edges. Serve with any leftover bbq sauce (no Italian dressing).
Thanks Mosca - that combination sounds interesting - and good!
I'm tellin' ya, it's the hot ticket. Simple and good. You could make it easy, using bottled ingredients, or you can make it original, by making home made sauce and salad dressing. You could screw around foo-fooing with wrapping this or chopping that, or you can eat bbq'd chicken.

(We use bottled ingredients: the cheapest Italian dressing, and Dinosaur Original sauce. How declasse, how suburban '70s America! Don't knock it, the thighs come out amazingly good.)

Coconut curry chicken.   Marinated, skewer and cook.   Very good flavors for chicken.

  • We have them frequently along with boneless, skinless chicken breast and all I do is rub them with evoo and cover in dizzy dust or similar and cook raised direct at 375-400.

My kroger didn't have it. Grabbed a bottle of KC Masterpiece instead. Marinating as we speak!

LOL, well THAT'LL be different. ;)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Theophan posted this awhile back. A scratch recipe for jerk seasoning. I still haven't tried it, but certainly plan to! Anyway... for next time.

Plated with red beans and rice. I'm sure it's not the same as a more authentic marinade (which I'll get soon), but overall it was good! Sorry no forks  :|

When I made my "different" crack earlier, it was because when I think of KC Masterpiece, I think of that thick, sweet bbq sauce they serve in KC. =) I just assumed you had changed your mind about having jerk tonight.

When I saw your later pics and they looked like they're supposed to, I looked up KCM's marinades. Had no idea they had all those varieties. I assume you used this?

Whatever you used, your chicken looks fantastic! The rice and "peas" side looks tasty too!

  • This recipe from Dizzy Pig is fantastic and there are never any leftovers when we make this at home and I have some picky eaters.

That's it! Yall had me going on the jerk chicken and that's all I could find. I've never tried jerk flavored anything so this was my first try. Like I said, I'd imagine the other stuff would taste more authentic than what I had, but overall it really was good! I'll have to try a different rice and "pea" recipe though - not great. Also didn't know they were called peas =)

I'm always honored to give it to those who are deserving of it. There are a few things that automatically earn it; oysters, lobster, large volumes of meat, and kicking azz on the mini!!
