Dome off center

I had my egg for about 3 years and it has been great. I went out of town for a week and accidently left the dome open and now it is way off center, about half of the gasket.
Is this something that I can fix by readjusting the bands?

Yep. Loosen them up, get everything aligned and then tighten them, evenly and slowly and you should be fine. Might take a few tries.

Are you sure it just shifted and was not bent? You may want to inspect the hinge closely to see if it has gotten bent. If that's the issue then you can try to straighten it by gently forcing the dome back to where it should be. I say gently and not horse it!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Are you saying it has an overbite or under bite compared to the bottom? If that is the case, you want to open the dome, remove the springs, close the lid, loosen the nuts from the hinge to the dome and adjust as needed. Tighten nuts and reattach springs. Just a guess what is off center as you said.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

Underbite, if I remember correctly you are supposed to replace the bolts every time you redo the bands?
Anyone remember the size of the factory bolts? I will need to go buy a new deep well socket -
RRP, im worried it did get bent, I was gone for a week with the dome open in some crappy weather.

You can reuse the bolts. If it's bent (racked) try bending it back before loosening the bolts.______________________________________________I love lamp..

That was my guess! When you do try to straighten it make sure the dome is securely tight as the stress of bending COULD cause the dome to pop out of the band and fall on the floor. It wouldn't be a bad idea if you have someone to help keep an eye on what's moving and where when you are attempting the straightening. Good luck!!!fiercetimbo17 said:RRP, im worried it did get bent, I was gone for a week with the dome open in some crappy weather.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
