Stuffed with onion and chive cream cheese and Chorizo Sausage. Next time I will split them for a family dinner we are hosting.

Yeah I think you'll like them better split, wrapped in bacon and grilled directly on the grate.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

I love ABT's! I usually make a boat out of mine (split lengthwise) and the bacon crisps up nicely as it sits on the grate. Those look pretty delicious though, especially for your first attempt!

I usually stuff mine whole but I do stretch/wrap the bacon all around and over the top and the bacon crisps up nicely even when cooked in a packed pepper holder/stand.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk

So, did your family enjoy them? One if my children does not like jalapeño so I make a few ABTs with mini colored peppers. Either way they are a nice treat.IL

I only made them a couple of times, but I split them to stuff, but put both halves back together, wrapped them in bacon, then sliced them into sections to serve, which seemed easier to eat than whole ones.

They were great! My wife ate both of her's so they must have been good.LetsEat said:So, did your family enjoy them? One if my children does not like jalapeño so I make a few ABTs with mini colored peppers. Either way they are a nice treat. -

The greatest barrier against all wisdom, the stronghold against knowledge itself, is the single thought, in ones mind, that they already have it all figured out. -
I split mine. If you leave them unsplit like that, just wrap the bacon over the end to hold everything in and cook them sideways on the grill. Very little mess when done.

The stand was a Fathers Day gift so I had to give it a try.Toxarch said:I split mine. If you leave them unsplit like that, just wrap the bacon over the end to hold everything in and cook them sideways on the grill. Very little mess when done. -
Ah... I've seen those, and they look SO handy, except for the fact that the only "poppers" I've ever cooked, and probably the only ones I'll ever cook, given how much I liked them, are stuffed and bacon-wrapped ABTs, which I don't think will fit in those holes.dstearn said:The stand was a Fathers Day gift so I had to give it a try.
Maybe someone on this forum will invent an ABT rack and make millions of dollars!
Thousands of dollars?
A dollar three ninety-eight?

Nice twist with the flavored cream cheese. A tip for wrapping the bacon, let the bacon warmup a bit on the counter then you can kinda flatten and manipulate it much better. It also adheres to itself much better at a warmer temp. Nice job!

Enjoy them, they are a treat for sure.Large, small, and a mini
