Blue Cheese Strip Steak and Asparagus Salad

Bacon for the salad on the small @ 350° raised direct
First time doin bacon on the egg but certainly won't be the last. Nice and crispy and the grease just dripped away from the meat.
Once the bacon grease cleared from the fire on went the asparagus
Meanwhile the Strip is on the Mini @ 550° after a 2hr soak in coarse salt
The last couple of mins on the egg I added some blue cheese to the meat. And it's resting and me wishing that I put the cheese on a lil earlier
Plated with the asparagus, egg, bacon and a red wine,Dijon mustard and EVOO dressing
The steak was just a tad overcooked but still nice and tender. Thanks for looking.

Looks awesome!! I've been thinking about ordering those asparagus clips. Question: Does the portion of asparagus clinched in the clip cook evenly with the rest of the spear? Again, great and inspiring looking cook!

Thanks Dyal! I've not noticed any difference in the veggie portion that is inside the clip. I think reflective heat happens here because these things get way hot during the cook.Dyal_SC said:Looks awesome!! I've been thinking about ordering those asparagus clips. I'm not a blue cheese fan but the steak and asparagus salad are spot on. Nice cook.

Real grill masters don't need asparagus holders
BTW, what is the dressing on the asparagus? -
Lol on the grill masters! The dressing was a mix of Dijon, EVOO & red wine vinegar.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.
