After looking at the 3 top brands (Primo, egg, joe) I decided on the egg because of support, warranty and price. Then it was a matter of xl vs L. Well, I ended up with the XL bundle yesterday! Glad I went with it because I didn't want to have buyer's remorse. Bought 2 bags of Rockwood and plan on doing some bone in Boston butts Friday! Glad to be here and look forward to everyones guidance!

Welcome!Southeast Florida - LBGE
In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -
Welcome.

Thanks and will do! I have won a couple BBQ competitions last couple of years on a cheap master built smoker so I hope the egg can keep me on top! Last year's judges were winners on a couple episodes of BBQ pitmasters show. Pretty neat and they were great guys.XLBGE /MiniBGE / Maverick 733 x 2/ Woo2 / CGS 17.5 Stone

Thanks, no I am not new to Q, but new to ceramics. I mainly smoke shoulders and turkeys/chickens. Been cooking shoulders for years now and only recently entered local charity BBQ competitions here in NC. The competitions usually consist of about 11 different teams. I will post pics of my first use on friday cooking Boston's. Appreciate the warm welcome from all!XLBGE /MiniBGE / Maverick 733 x 2/ Woo2 / CGS 17.5 Stone
