Simple wash tub - genius or late to the party?

I thought it was genius! SWMBO  looked at me a little sideways.

$5 at home depot, a water heater overflow pan.  24", can soak my grid.  I'm not a guy to clean too often, but it was time.

Nor am I^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. In my book, filth equals flavor. On a separate note, congradulations and enjoy the new pan. But please, just don't clean it. Keep it dirty my friend ;)

No, not late to the party, but I have often shared my garbage can lid for the same purpose to keep Momma happy!

That's what I used to use, albeit the Rubbermaid lid from my trashcan in the woodshop.
With the cast-iron grid, I now just scrub it down with a brush or foil.
