Football anyone?

Many high schools started this weekend. Been watching the corky Kell classic games. Cant wait until college and NFL start. Got some baby backs and chicken to practice my GameDay preparations tomorrow. Anybody else out there already thinking of their labor day/football weekend kickoff?  I know wings will be on my menu. Go DAWGS and Falcons!!

Man September 5th my beloved Huskers take the field and I went ahead and took the first week of pro football off to cook and watch games. Can't wait for the real stuff to begin. Not very encouraged by the rumblings out of the Bears camp which is my pro team but it will be fun none the less.
I raise my kids, cook and golf.  When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.

Love college football!!  Truly do. Cuz it's the intro to college basketball.  Love the football, basketball is way more exciting !

@bgebrent that's only because you are a Kentucky boy!!! :-) I like both equally but football around here is a event every weekend. Basketball doesn't start gaining traction till conference season really gets going in mid to late January.

@Scottborasjr, I understand your perspective!  You watch your team every week or on a bye week.  Basketball is 2 times a week with no byes.  Way more exciting but of course, you appreciate my bias!  Both sports are great!  I love college football, but as you would imagine, love roundball more!  Go Kats!

@bgebrent oh I still get fired up for every basketball game I'm just in a football centric state. I'm a Carolina guy when it comes to basketball and as soon as midnight practice hits I'm game. Just don't have many others around me that enjoy it like I do.

In years past I have worked OT on Sundays, but I have took a pledge not to do that this year.  Several factors have come into play,  more OT on other days, and a real likelihood the Raiders will be in LA in the near future. I will be taking my kids to several games this year in Oakland before they leave.
  • I used to go to most home games in the early 2000s. I have since become more of a homebody on the back porch with my tv and egg. I still try to go to one game each year. Too many good games on the tube to get up at daybreak and fight crowds and traffic

Once again my boys kick it off on Thursday before labor Day. Getting it out of the way allows for sitting back and watching football over a five day weekend. That reminds me, need to go ice some frostys down. Need to quench a thirst, and in pre-season training. Go Cocks......beat da Heels!

I'm having friends over tonight for the Vikings preseason game. Couple shoulders in the egg and cold beverages in the fridge

Chicken and ribs look excellent - chicken is definitely moist.
Almost at the half way point for the CFL, something must be wrong because my Tiger-Cats are in first place in the east. Once the Grey Cup is played, November 29th, I get interested in the NFL. Will have to dump my A's avatar soon as the post-season will not be in their future......

There's only two seasons. Football season and waiting on football season.
