I have been following the conversations about these coolers, but I haven't ordered one yet.  I have spent way too much money on buying the two eggs, building the kitchen and buying accessories for now.  Also, I have been plagued my whole life with being a skeptic about things.  So I was hoping that some of you would receive yours and I could read some first hand reviews.  I have never owned a really top of the line cooler but hope to do so.

Today I did a quick little search and found the following groups/folks are expressing some of the things you guys are.  I thought you might find it interesting.

You can't be a skeptic if @SGH is involved.  From what I see in the forum  if this goes south  he's on a Road Trip to open up a coozie of Whup a$$.     I've wanted a darn Yeti so long I could not resist.

  • I was an early reserver and got the email this morning as well.  While I'm still very, very interested (2 verys), there's just not much in life I'm willing to pay for NOW and wait 60-90 days to have shipped.  The Lambo with the custom paint job?  Maybe, if I were willing to part with that kind of scratch.  Dive trip to Bora Bora?  Now you're talking.  But a cooler ramping up production as it [maybe] fights off IP issues?  It's just not how I roll.

I'll be watching the thread for news of how awesome all y'all say these babies are . . . sometime at the end of October or November.  For now, Imma grab the popcorn and sit back and watch the show.

I agree but It's smart on the owners part as they are getting us to fund their production so they don't have to borrow money or use terms.

Yes, but it would be nice of them to be honest and upfront. They have been a little misleading. Many companies have used this path in the past but they were upfront that there was some risk involved to the buyers.

@nolaegghead Man, I'd love to do that. But I gotta sell cars on Labor Day. One of our biggest days of the year.

Can you elaborate on how they have been misleading? Have they done something to you first hand or are you baseing  this off hear say??

Once you have one, no matter the brand, it's hard to back. They are a huge step up in quality.

This thread could be devastating...  as they say in baseball,  it's a long way to October.    I need to convert an @henappleposted picture or two  to stickers  for my new cooler :-)  I remember a few from THAT thread...

There isn't any discount for pre-ordering, I will wait until they start shipping and have reviews.
You are correct that there isn't a discount for preordering. However I feel that like most things, if these coolers sell well, the price will increase dramatically. Look at all the ones on the market now that once were touted as cheaper than Yeti. Their price is now very similar. Some are even higher than Yeti.

October/November? That's a far cry from August. Best of luck to you guys and gals.  I'm tapping out and not confirming my reservation. This doesn't pass my smell test anymore. I'll just go buy a Yeti or Pelican off the shelf if I decide I need one that badly.

Are you talking about the picture of their "new location" posted on their FB page? Read the disclaimer by the picture of their building. It says it's a photoshopped picture and they will update the picture when the actual signage is up.

Yes but not all PShop is evil.   My ripoff meter is LOW  on this adventure.  To each his own.  I love the Yeti brand...  I like name brand stuff MORE than the next guy.  I drink most of the brand kool-aid that gets hawked here.   Yeti Cups have replaced Tervis,  My meat sucker is VacMaster ,  my grid is AR  & my thermapen bleeds green    but this darn thing  was a "can't say no"  so I went in on a 20/25 size   Unless it is a scam,  I WILL be grabbing a  45 or larger,  I just am all tingly for a rotomolded ice box.    Now,  was it uncool to drop certain colors after allowing the reservations,  big YES..  Maybe if they were as overwhelmed as they claim by demand,  that was the only way to not incur  even more delay (IF all original colors were attempted).

I have saw some folks voice concern over the pre paying. RTIC is not the only company who does this. You have been able to pre pay for the pending Yeti 210 that does not even exist yet for months. This is actually quite common.

    .

I just foraged across town in our badly needed rain to visit their Houston office. The 15 minute trip took about 3 hour round trip. Got to love Houston weather and road construction...

I met both John and Jim. They were both super nice and showed me their line of coolers as well as compared it to the Yeti coolers they had in their office so one could compare the quality side by side.

They invited all questions and answered all my questions. In my opinion they were as honest and open as anyone I have every met. John was very apologetic for the production delays but wants to make sure ALL the aspects were perfect before any runs were made.

They showed me a couple very, very, minor changes that were being made to the currant production run. Detail seems very important to them.

These coolers were beautiful in quality and material. The finish on the coolers were perfect as were the components.
They will in the future offer a wire tray/basket as many others do now.

They openly invite visitors per their web site to visit their office in Houston. I took them up and was very happy to meet them. They do not have stock ready for sale so don't expect to walk out with a cooler. They only had the most recent prototypes.

I will be putting in an order for a 65qt Tan. I feel confident they have made a better cooler for a greatly reduced price.

John also encouraged me to take any photos of the coolers I wanted. I did not take any close ups as I only had my phone but build quality is awesome and solid.

    I'm sold.

    Thank you,
