Nothing better! Do you fry yours in a skillet or deep fryer?---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

I miss fried okra. My mom used to make it but stopped frying things in general many years ago. Very few restaurants in the Midwest do it. Fresh from the ground into the oil is so the way to go.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

@Chubbs... I love youGreen egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

We do them both ways. If we dust them, then it's the frying pan. If we batter them, then it's the deep fryer.Chubbs said:

Looks awesome. Never has it breaded. I usually just sautée the, in a frying pan but this week I grilled them with some sal, pepper, oil, garlic powder. Came out awesome on the egg

Damn Chubbs that looks good!! I've also done okra in a veggie basket on the egg at about 450°. Treat it like any other veggie and it is very good. Not knocking on yours by any means.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

While we were in Texas last month, my sister did some okra on her Weber. First time I'd had it that way and, I must say, it was delicious!Mattman3969 said:Damn Chubbs that looks good!! Just picked up a ton of okra from the farmers market today. Plan on pickling most of mine. But I could make a meal outta fried okra alone. Loooooooove it.
Yours looks great!! -
Man, that's a monster plant. Didn't realize they got so big. I planted some okra a few weeks ago after my tomato plants met their maker. Hopefully I can get some before it gets too cold.
