1st Rib Cook Done

These were pork loin back ribs and not baby backs. They were much thicker and meatier and took a little longer to cook. I didn't get much of a bark on them, but wow were they moist, tender and juicy. Didn't sauce them, left that up to each family member's choice. Next up will be baby backs.
But I thoroughly enjoyed these. They had the perfect bite. Meat came off the bone with the bite and was not falling off. This was the first time I tried the DP rubs. Used the original, Swamp Venom and Meat Church on different slabs. All three were a hit in their own right.
Ribs will definitely be a part of our menu in the future. I am pleased with my first cook, but I know there is room for improvement.

Thanks for all of your help in answering my questions today. You folks made this cook a success in my book.

Nicely done Sir!I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

Well done! Looks delicious! I prefer the loin back ribs as they are meatier. And Krogers puts them on sale routinely here. Also like DP on them (Dizzy Dust) with Blues Hog sauce in the last 30-45' to get a nice bark. Yours look great!Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga
