Just had a fabulous time with @nolaegghead . He invited me in to his house, shared some great steak, homemade bread, and beer. His cooking and friends were out of this world!
Thanks!

Thanks!

Did he use the chunk of metal he got from a thermonuclear powerplant or some such? I had a blast over there. He's definitely a gracious host.XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum

Yup, used the radioactive thermonuclear turbo encabulator piece. Didn't even need to light the grill. Just set the steaks on the Fukishima metal.Thatgrimguy said:Did he use the chunk of metal he got from a thermonuclear powerplant or some such? I had a blast over there. Ozzie was a great guest. We all enjoyed his company and had a lot in common to talk about. Glad he decided to eat...he was originally planning on just a visit after eating with his family.

I cooked NY strip cut off a subprimal. Sous vide for 2 hrs at 120F. Blackened for about 60 seconds a side with melted butter and seasoning. Used a radioactive piece of reactor #6 from Fukushima. Great crust, no burn taste and the SV cooked it tender and perfect. 1st time I did that, it'll be on the A list menu in the future.

Let me add those raw strips in the picture above are about 2 pounds each. I didn't cook them tonight, I vacu-sucked them for future use. I cooked about 16 oz strips off the leaner side.

The astute will notice no green eggs were used for this meal. This was done on purpose, as I am a troll.

I have yet to hear anyone have a bad thing to say about @nolaegghead as a host. That speaks volumes about your true character. We need so much more of this in today's culture. Cheers to you!

I'm trying to figure out if the radioactive metal thing is a joke or not, what is that you were cooking on? You seem like a hell of a host.Firing up the BGE in Covington, GA

Looks like a great time and some great grub. Wish I would have known that you were in the area. I would have tried to swing by and say hello.Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

Deal, but I have a minimum of 1000 people to make it worth my while. So shake the curtains and look under the furniture.Chubbs said:@nolaegghead my SIL is getting married there in May.
