Did a little piece of a brisket last night. Made some good sandwiches. Got the egg rolling around 250 right now sitting in the porch swing about to toss two butts on.

It was actually really great @Scottborasjr the wife loved it. I think it was just hitting the right temp and it coming from a good cow. Was a funny looking piece of meat though.Scottborasjr said:Looks good. Glad to here the tiny brisket turned into Some good sandwiches . I can't hold under 240° with my large without a controller. No experience with an xl, hopefully soon

Great pics. You missed an opportunity to insert your most famous pic. That would have been funny, given the title.XL,L,SWinston-Salem, NC

MCN....I believe you live here in Miss. I live in Brandon MS. We're practically neighbors! :-)MrCookingNurse said:The xl stays a lot steadier low than my large did. It loves 200 dome.
anyway, that's good to know about the XL holding steady. I am getting one this week for the office. Gonna be doing some big cooks for everyone. Also going to be teaching one of our guys how to cook on the egg.
Question.....are u using a lump reducer or do you just load it up
Like you would the large? I know for a overnight cook you would but what about a 5 hour cook?Brandon, MS -
@loveTheEgg Yes sir I was in Mississippi. We moved to west tenn after the first of the year.
Man im loving The XL. They are all different though it's crazy. I've had a large small and now an XL. I do not have any link reducer as of yet. You can just put small pile of lump or just put lump on one side. Someone mentioned just using firebricks and that's what I plan on doing. I wanted more of the angle L brackets than j did the lump reducing ring.
So so for the XL has not disappointed and is a rock star. Your gonna love it._______________________________________________XLBGE -
Butts are in the oven. Coming on up. 185 right now. Wife said I couldn't come to church smelling like smoke so going to shut down the egg and shower.
Got some towels in the dryer getting hot to wrap the buts with FTC. Really need some hot bricks and a yeti but maybe In a month or so I'll have an @SGH cooler_______________________________________________XLBGE -
