@logchief .. I do my Tri tips 'Santa Maria' style. It saddens me when I see people marinading a perfectly good Tri tip. Great looking cook there!I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.

@Legume ... I see you live in Texas - Austin to be specific. Ive always wanted to experience Texas bbq .. we don't have really good bbq here in Los Angeles. You are very fortunate.I've slow smoked and eaten so much pork, I'm legally recognized as being part swine - Chatsworth Ca.

@SoCalTim my bil lives in LA, comes here often and love bbq. he's said there are a few places he's found that he thinks are pretty legit. I'll ask him, maybe there's a gem there. he lives south of you in PV but seems to get around the southbay.

Bil said a good friend of his writes this blog, not sure if you've seen it or not or if you've eaten at any of these places.

Beautiful cook, @logchief. As I mentioned a bit ago in a thread about Costco,
I recently stumbled over a two-pack of Prime tri-tips.
Wow!
That's a great way to fight hunger at home!
