I picked up an 8000 btu portable AC for camping and the boat cabin plus a 3100 watt inverter generator.  Haven't used them in the field yet, but I'm excited about getting to do some island camping in a tent via boat.  I HATE the heat.

We have a camper parked beside the garage that has AC. I don't mind the heat. But we may hit that tonight instead. (Was more of a get away from the kids thing)

Our nights are hot and humid - only way to sleep without AC is to acclimate or drink excessively and pass out.  You guys normally cool down a bit more at night, I believe.  I know you had a heat wave, at least my buddy in Idaho was complaining about it a couple of weeks back, figured it might have extended north to you.

Going through another "Alberta heat wave" right now. And I drink excessively and pass out regardless of the temp....

We spent a small fortune on a sleep number bed with an "old-person" articulating frame.  I hear it's nice from SWMBO.  I could sleep on broken glass most nights.  Fortunately, I can look at the web app that measures my heartbeat and restlessness and look how badly I slept ;)  "hey, I just feel slightly hung-over!"

There is an app for that? I went to a specialist. Had extreme sleep apnea and had to use one of those machines. That lasted two nights. Couldn't do it.

the night will be nice and cool in there but the morning will suck.  Hungover in a tent in 30+ weather is hell on earth

Don't leave the tent until some hair-of-the-dog anesthetizes and re-centers your nervous system.

We got an option where there are sensors built-in to the mattress on each side and they pick up heartbeat, breathing, restlessness, shagging, etc.  The computer is connected via wi-fi to a server monitored by perverted NSA employees somewhere in the interwebs ether, and the remote and apps connect to that.

So you got a CPAP machine for two days.  That's gotta feel as pleasant as performing fellatio on an alien while trying to sleep.

It sucked!!!! I'll have to look into that. I feel bad for the wife cause my lack of good sleep makes her sleep worse.

You can elevate your head, legs, move stuff around.  There's a setting on the remote that's called something like "weigthless" or something.  Supposed to help with snoring.  Don't know about sleep apnea.  I love Clamato.  It's like 12 percent MSG, so you know it's good.

SWMBO snores enough to knock plaster off the ceiling.

My snoring is probably what my wife hates the most. I got to work this morning and she sent me a video of me snoring last night. (I had a few last night)

Tell her you do it on purpose.  Pause for a while....  Then say, that's ridiculous.

Get an APAP machine (auto pressure) and give it another shot.  It took me a month to get used to it but it is one of the best things I ever did.  I always thought I was tired because of the shift work but I feel much more rested now I have the APAP machine

Edit: its been 3 months now and I find it uncomfortable to sleep without it.  Also the humidifier is absolutely necessary to be able to use the machine comfortably without it it is a nightmare

    If the camper is a-rockin...

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
