I gave the old pork burnt ends a try this past weekend when visiting some friends for the 4th. Staring at a Big Green Egg with a lake in the background is a job that I can handle!

The cook itself was nice twist on a pork shoulder. They came out much more moist and tender than I imagined after they were cut up into cubes. I maybe should have let them cook a little longer for a better char but wasn't willing to take a chance of drying out. Here's a couple pics:

Looks great.  I'd ride that train to Flavortown (Guy Fieri reference).

Looks and sounds tasty!  You need a few more wires on your grill if you're trying to create a faraday cage.

@Sea2Ski I'll be doing them again here in a couple weeks. I like how you can rub and sauce them and feel like your not missing anything while eating them plain if that makes any sense. Eating pulled pork without a bun feels naked and wrong. These burnt ends not so much

@Hotch Thanks!  Two pork shoulders 15lbs. pre-trimmed. I would have used two disposable pans if I had a 2nd pan available and my XL egg for the extra room. It would have gave a little better char if I had some more room to move the burnt ends around and not stacked on top of one another. Had to do what was available with me being at my friends house

@minniemoh Much appreciated!  I used Dipstix - Mary's Favorite. The sauce is homemade. I think it would be accompanied good with Blues Hog Sauce - Tennessee Red
