Rib tips for burnt ends?

So I'm doing spares to bring to a party this evening. usually I buy them already St Louis style but these were untrimmed from Sam's so I now have the rib tips. I was thinking but them on the egg just like ribs for a couple of hours, then chop them up and cook them in baked beans 'burnt end' style with some sauce and brown sugar.
Has anyone done this?

Interested to see what is suggested here, I have a couple packs of tips in the freezer as well, and no idea what to do with them. Interesting idea, and to me it sounds like a good idea, but I have very little to go from… I'm sure an eggspert will be along shortly.Lethbridge, Alberta LBGE & MM

Heck yeah we have done it. Many times. It's what we call homemade pork & beans. Rib tips are ideal for this.MDHog said:So I'm doing spares to bring to a party this evening. usually I buy them already St Louis style but these were untrimmed from Sam's so I now have the rib tips. I use my rib tips for Kapusniak. Never smoked them but I'm sure you can't go wrong. Seems like a good treat for the Chef to snack on with some beers while waiting for guests to arrive.Dearborn MI

This turned out great. Highly recommended use for the rib tips. It's a meal in itself. I used a slightly modified version of Bobby Flay's pinto beans and burn ends recipe from his BBQ Addiction show, which is easy to find online.
